Hot on the heels of his "Strictly Come Dancing" triumph, internationally renowned England cricketer Darren Gough takes a light-hearted look at the world of dance and tells the story of how he came to exchange his cricket whites for dancing shoes. Before taking part in the hugely successful TV show Darren's only experience of dance was break-dancing on street corners in Barnsley, but with the guidance of professional dancer Lilia Kopylova he was soon mastering a whole range of moves and sweeping his way into the nation's affections -- 3 million people voted for him in the series final. In "Dazzler on the Dance Floor -- Strictly for Fun", he and Lilia demonstrate various dances in accessible 'how to' steps and recall their time together on the show, with entertaining anecdotes about their rivals as well as of Darren's journey from reluctant dancer to becoming the 'James Bond of the Dance Floor'.
Advantages: Incredible story and great characters Disadvantages: Like all Shan books we just want more!
...Demon Thief. This is the second book in Darren Shan's second series of books, the aptly named Demonata series. This series is bassed on the belief that there is another universe beyond ours which can be reached through magic where hoards of demons live. And they are constantly trying to find ways through to kill us all. The book itself is based before the first book though it is the second in ther series this is the same with Bec as it is the fourth in the series yet is based before the other 3.
Demon thief is a book focused mainly on revealing the mystery of the disciples, but even more so tells us about the life of a very interesting young man who though weak in traditional magic is more powerful then a Demon Master in some ways.
The tale begins with Kernel Fleck, a lonely boy who has always been different, outcast...

Advantages: Start of a 12 Book Series Disadvantages: Childrens series
...The first in the 12 book series (also available in 4 trilogy books) it follows the story of a boy called Darren Shan and the outcome of a visit to a mysterious freak show called The Cirque Du Freak where he and his friend are awed by a weird looking man called Mr Crepsley (who turns out to be a vampire) and his pet spider, a huge Tarantula which he seems to be able to control. The series is aimed at children aged up to about 14 and the first three books are in preouction to become a feature film (rights bought by Universal Studios). This first book ends and delves straight into the second book so it is advised to buy at least the first three together to avoid disappointment! Read It!...
