Advantages: Great plot. Had a good main character. Disadvantages: Confusing ending. Other characters seemed one dimesional at times.

I had picked this up on one of my book trawls around the library, the blurb on the back had me interested in it, although the outcome at the end of the book is a little confusing, it was a good read.

Sunny's elder sister, Jazz, has died in a fire. Both of her parents have broken down after this; her father turning to drink and leaving, and her mother falling into depression, leaving Sunny to take care of her. After a while, things begin to slowly become better, but when Sunny receives a letter from Jazz, telling her she is alive, things begin to unravel. The girl who calls herself Jazz and comes back home to her grieving parents is not Jazz, she acts almost the same but Sunny knows this isn't her sister. But why would this impostor pretend to be a dead girl?

The book is written in first person through Sunny's point of view as she tries to cope with her Mum's depression and this new Jazz. The main character is believable and interesting, and I found myself enjoying reading her thoughts about the situation. But Sunny's parents were one dimensional throughout some of the later chapters when the person calling herself Jazz reappeared, although there weren't many pages in the book to give them enough time to develop their characters, they were just their to kick the plot forwards. I think Sunny had most of the book's attention concerning character.

Even though the ending left me frustrated and disappointed, it was an enjoyable read through all of the chapters and had me gripped. Not only did it have an interesting plot, it focussed on Sunny's hardships and made her life-like, although the other characters seemed almost unreal at some points in the book. This is a book I would recommend to most of my friends though, and I'd definitely read this again after not reading it for awhile. It might not be to everyone's taste but people who enjoy intense psychological stories with interesting and most of the time believable characters will find this a good read despite the confusing ending.

Advantages: Worth the money! Disadvantages: It's a little confusing!
...is that someone from the dead is coming back!
Here's a little bit more:
1) This person lives with sunny
2) This gives sunny more of a relaxing time, not having to do much...
3) Everything supposedly gets better
4) Who is this person, it's not Sunny's enemy, she's worse
5) Thanks from this happening Sunny's now going off to boarding school, is that a good or bad idea? Hmmmmmm, you have to read it to find out...
What else can I say?
