Dead Keen is Denise Ryan’s second novel. The main character, Justine, is an attractive girl about to get married to the man of her dreams. However, there is a flaw in her rosy life, she is being stalked. At first her stalker, Matthew, is madly in love with her. When he is rejected his love turns to hate and he does whatever he can to make her live in fear. The story is harrowing in parts with some awful stomach churning attacks and deaths. Another storyline follows the dealing in an illegal contaminated mineral from Russia by Justine’s close friend Paul. The two stories intertwine with harrowing consequences. It is definitely not the type of book that leaves you with a warm feeling inside; it will make you ensure you double lock your door at night. The book is very well written, drawing you into the lives and minds of all its characters, once started you are unable to put it down.
