Life and death on the streets

Advantages: Excellent story with facinating characters
Disadvantages: A touch slow in the middle

Background I would describe myself as a bit of a novice as a reader of Mark Billingham novels. Thus far I had only read the one thriller written by him entitled ?The Burning Girl?, which I really enjoyed. So when the opportunity came to read this one I jumped at the chance. Especially as it only cost me £1 at my local charity shop, I knew I was onto a winner at that price. A little about the author Mark Billingham is a well-respected and very popular English writer. He was born in Birmingham and before turning his attention to writing he was an actor and a stand up comedian. Since 2001 he has churned out 10 books of which eight have featured DCI Tom Thorne as his star character. He has also written under the pseudonym Will Peterson. Mark Billingham - Lazy Bones

Advantages: Makes it impossible to put down... a real who did it?
Disadvantages: None I can think of.

Author History Mark Billingham is actually a stand-up comedian, as well as being awarded a winning television writer award. He has two previous novels called Sleepyhead and Scaredy Cat. With the office divided, some wanting this killer caught soon and some wanting the killer ...

Review of Lazybones - Mark Billingham

"Let us drink beer and talk of death"

Advantages: Well written
Disadvantages: part of plot given away on the cover

This book has been sitting on my shelf for a while now, and recently I finally got round to reading it. I have never read a book by Mark Billingham before, so wasn't sure what to expect, but given that I do enjoy a good crime thriller, and also that his work is endorsed by Harlan Coben who is one of my favourite authors, I was looking forward to reading it. ~~~~~~~~~~~ THE AUTHOR ~~~~~~~~~~~ I was aware that Mark Billingham has wrote a number of novels, but was very surprised to read that he is actually a stand-up comedian, appearing regularly at the Comedy Store! He also is an award-winning television writer and lives in North London. ~~~~~~~~~ SYNOPSIS ~~~~~~~~~ A woman is murdered in front of her young son. Followed home from Euston Station, on the tube, and to her home, where she is strangled to death. At the same time, killed in ...
