Advantages: gentle yet effective in blemish removal and daily cleansing
Disadvantages: strong lavendar smell

I was blessed with lovely skin throughout my teens only to be plagued by acne and sensitivity in my early 20's.. finally went to a salon and had my "skin mapped" by a dermalogica specialist and was given a prescription of products suitable for me: i finally bought special cleansing gel, antioxidant hydramist, active moist moisturiser, multivitamin thermofoliant, skin hydrating booster and will review each seperately. This review will be focusing on the special cleansing gel. I bought a 500ml bottle costing £35, while this seems steep it actually works out cheaper in the long run as the cleanser should last you 8 months at least (mine has lasted almost 9 months and both myself and my 60 year old mother been using it twice a day). Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel

Advantages: Only need a little bit, excellent product
Disadvantages: a bit pricey!

I have been using Dermalogica products for around 6 months now - I was a Clarins addict before but I found that after a while it wasn't working as well as it used to. So Dermalogica was recommended to me by a family friend. I had always seen good press coverage of it but had never really seen it in the shops. I now know that you either need to buy it from an authorised retailer or on the internet. What I think really sells it for me is that it is formulated my actual dermatologists rather than cosmetic companies & the ingredients are all natural so you know what you are using, which I always find reassuring. Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel

Advantages: purifies the skin without over-drying it
Disadvantages: a bit more expensive so not affordable to everyone

Praise the day when I found Dermalogica skin care! I never go anywhere without Special Cleansing Gel. It effectively removes all make-up and dirt without drying out the face. It's suitable for oily and combination skin. Special Cleansing Gel comes in three sizes: travel size bottle 100ml, normal size bottle 250ml and finally a huge bottle 500ml. Dermalogica range is a bit more expensive, but a little goes a long way - just a little squeeze is enough for the entire face. It smells ok too. Some facial cleansing gels have a horrible perfumed smell or pharmaceutical smell. Although it contains lavender, you wouldn't even know that it's in there by smelling it. I recommend using the gel with a facial loofa to exfoliate the skin and deep-cleanse. This is one of the best facial cleansers out there. ...
