Anyone want some chips...?
Review of Tefal FA700415 Family Oleoclean Fryer by shaheena

Advantages: Very easy to clean
Disadvantages: temperatures go abit funny....?

The Tefal FA700415 Family Oleoclean Fryer is really such a great product, I have one at home, and I received it as a wedding present by one of my relatives. When I found out it was a deep fat fryer, I was thinking they must be having a laugh, did they want me to become fat or something but actually the fryer wasn’t so bad. Well what I can say about the deep fat fryer from my first experiences after using it to deep fry my frozen chips and fish fingers ...
...some useful facts about the Tefal FA700415 Family Oleoclean Fryer which are: Family 1kg food capacity and 2.2L oil capacity – This is a food size, enough to cook for loads of people in one go. * Cordless design – tie up loose wire, which I good for safety reasons. * Hands-free oil filtering – the machine does it for you so that I just superb. * Comes with oil filtering storage pot – very useful and can keep excess oil in it. * Digital timer ... don't forget the spuds
Review of Moulinex AKG531 Supra by agapanthus

Advantages: compact with good capacity
Disadvantages: cannot remove filter or bowl to clean, need to place near an extractor as odour and vapour not controlled

...we came home with a Moulinex silver and black rather attractive number, along with the requisite bag of potatoes from our local supermarket. After 3 attempts at badly peeling and preparing chips (cutting decent looking chips is not all that easy) and managing to firstly burn, then undercook and finally get it exactly right, I thought, hang on, wouldn't it have been easier to have bought a traditional fryer you just put on the hob. Well, being a little ...
...as I cook, I think that for safety reasons alone, a stand alone contained fat fryer is the better option, no matter what make you're looking for. Anyway, here's the lowdown on what this fryer offers: thermostatic temperature settings (160,170,180,190 dishwasher safe basket 1.2kg capacity (enough for 2 large portions, or 4 small) permanent metal filter clear viewing window nice black and chrome look on/off switch with led easy open lid So ... Chips
Review of Tefal 6101.84 by WendyTaylor

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

Tefal Maxi Classic Deep Fat Frier My Mum bought me my Deep fat frier for christmas, she was sick of worrying that I’d have an accident with my stove top chip pan. (God...do you still remember those?). I had actually asked for one and was pleased with my present. GOOD POINTS: Easy to use... Plug it in, wait for the light to go out, lower the basket Charcoal filter in the lid...Controls smells, can be bought by mail order from Tefal when needed ...
...chips, you can do loads in one go NOT SO GOOD POINTS No “rise and fall” basket...you lower the basket into the fat using the little handle supplied Not easy to clean...you have to pick it up to empty it No thermostatic control...it’s either hot or it’s not As far as a pressie goes, I was well chuffed but if I’d had a bit more money I’d certainly go for something with a few more features. ... ==Kenwood DF520==
Review of Kenwood DF520 by travellinggardener

Advantages: Good to cook with. Easy to clean.
Disadvantages: Rather large to store.

Kenwood DF520 I have found this fryer to be an efficient addition to my kitchen. It is rather bulky so advisable to have a cupboard to store it in, for, if you are like me, it will only be used on a few occassions. It cooks well with a good range of temperatures and has a reasonable sized basket for the food to be cooked. It is rather spoilt by the viewing window becoming hard to see through once cooking has commenced as it appears to steam ... Read review

A healthy chip buttie?
Review of Tefal FZ 7000 Actifry by sandra102

Advantages: lovely healthy crispy chips
Disadvantages: expensive

The Hype Imagine being able to fry a batch of real home-made chips with just a tablespoon of olive oil. Sounds too good to be true? Place up to a kilo of freshly cut chips into the cooking pan, then measure your preferred oil with the scoop provided, pour it over, and set the timer. Patented technology circulates hot air around your fries, whilst the mixing paddle evenly disperses the oil. The result is chips that are crispy on the outside, soft ...
...more good news to come: The Actifry can also be used for cooking frozen chips, scampi, chicken drumsticks, stir-fried vegetables and lots more besides - recipe book included An odourless filter keeps your kitchen fresh, and you can check on progress through the viewing window Everything except the base can go into the dishwasher, and of course there's no oil to filter after frying. The truth I have seen this demonstrated on shopping channels ... Read review
