Flippin dangerous
Review of Moulinex ACZ1P1 by
flambards
Advantages: cooks fairly well
Disadvantages: Dodgy handle
...must be obeyed' purchased the moulinex deep fat fryer because she liked the colour (sort of a pukey yellow) Ever since we have had the fryer, the unclipable handle comes off nearly every time we take food from the frier. More often that not we get splashed with extremely hot fat. We have to make sure the children are nowhere near when using it. I keep threatening to write to moulinex and complain about it, but unless I can do it on the PC via email ...

Great Kenwood Deep Fat Fryer
Review of Kenwood DF600 by
pcschof
Advantages: Great Fryer - with Coolwall - very easy to clean
Disadvantages: none so far
We bought this to replace our old Delonghi fryer and we havent been disappointed yet.
It holds 2 1/2 litres of oil at its maximum level and 2 litres at the minimum.
The heat setting is adjustable via a roller wheel towards the bottom of the unit and this makes it very user friendly. The lid is easy to open and the basket is very easy to remove from the bowl and also very easy to put back in. The great advantage of this fryer is that it is exceptionally ... ...are completely dishwasher safe. Making this fryer very friendly to use and to keep clean. The bowl is removable which makes it so easy to clean the rest of the unit.
It has an integrated filter in the lid, which is also washble.
The temperature control knob is very easy to use.
We paid £54 for this deep fat fryer when it was on special offer in Comet. We'd looked on the web and Comet was the cheapest we could find at the time. An excellent product ...

Q: When is a professional not a professional?
Review of Russell Hobbs 10357 by
sandemp
Advantages: Two fryers in one | Each can be set to separate temperature | Easy to Clean
Disadvantages: Unsafe | Unreliable | Expensive
A: When it's the Russell Hobbs 10357
I have a large family and on the rare occasions I give them chips or other fried foods, I usually find that I have to cook them in two or even three batches, as a deep fat fryer will only hold so much. One day I decided I'd had enough of this malarkey and decided to hunt on-line for something that would let me cook for the whole family in one go. What I came up with was the Russell Hobbs 10357, a deep fat fryer ... ...couldn't believe my luck and ordered it straight away, thinking at last, an answer to my prayers, or was it……..
---The Styling---
Looking like something out of an industrial kitchen, this fryer is extremely large and measures in at approximately 34cm square, so it takes up an awful lot of room on my work surface. The majority of the unit is brushed stainless steel, with black plastic detailing, it looks very modern and as I've already said wouldn't ...

Tefal Acti Fry
Review of Tefal FZ 7000 Actifry by
bullyfome
Advantages: use little oil
Disadvantages: easy to break no repair
I bought this to cook chips but it takes to long 35-40 mins but they are not worth the wait to dried up .
It does chicken wings great in 30 mins it also does have a recipe
book some of them work others do not.
The let downs of the fryer are the plastic clear lid the clips that keep lid closed are made of the same thin polycarbonate and after a little time
the become brittle and break off so you can not keep the lid down.

Tefal Actifry caught fire on 5th use.
Review of Tefal FZ 7000 Actifry by
Ishouldbesolucky
Advantages: Can make fresh low fat chips and wedges, easy to clean
Disadvantages: Bit big so takes up room, takes quite a long time to cook, caught on fire
I love the chips and wedges (that I made with fresh organic potatoes), and so do the family. It is much cheaper to make your own, once you have bought the product, but takes a longish time to cook - up to 45 mins depending on how much you cook. One kilo of wedges take 45 minutes. Less takes a little less time.
The instructions are easy to follow from the recipe book, I haven't tried any of the interesting recipes in there.
I can't use wheat flour ... ...two tablespoons of oil, and I added spices as per recipe but my own choice of spices.
The actifry is easy to dismantle and clean in the dishwasher and it doesn't smell much when cooking.
However after just 5 uses my actifry caught on fire and it is really lucky I noticed this right away or it could have been very serious, so it is going back to the retailer.
I unplugged it and shut the lid and it went out, but produced a lot of chemical/plastic ...
