I bought this to cook chips but it takes to long 35-40 mins but they are not worth the wait to dried up . It does chicken wings great in 30 mins it also does have a recipe book some of them work others do not. The let downs of the fryer are the plastic clear lid the clips that keep lid closed are made of the same thin polycarbonate and after a little time the become brittle and break off so you can not keep the lid down. I love the chips and wedges (that I made with fresh organic potatoes), and so do the family. It is much cheaper to make your own, once you have bought the product, but takes a longish time to cook - up to 45 mins depending on how much you cook. One kilo of wedges take 45 minutes. Less takes a little less time. The instructions are easy to follow from the recipe book, I haven't tried any of the interesting recipes in there. I can't use wheat flour ...

However after just 5 uses my actifry caught on fire and it is really lucky I noticed this right away or it could have been very serious, so it is going back to the retailer. Kenwood DF520 I have found this fryer to be an efficient addition to my kitchen. It is rather bulky so advisable to have a cupboard to store it in, for, if you are like me, it will only be used on a few occassions. It cooks well with a good range of temperatures and has a reasonable sized basket for the food to be cooked.
