A healthy chip buttie?
Review of Tefal FZ 7000 Actifry by
sandra102
Advantages: lovely healthy crispy chips
Disadvantages: expensive
The Hype
Imagine being able to fry a batch of real home-made chips with just a tablespoon of olive oil. Sounds too good to be true?
Place up to a kilo of freshly cut chips into the cooking pan, then measure your preferred oil with the scoop provided, pour it over, and set the timer. Patented technology circulates hot air around your fries, whilst the mixing paddle evenly disperses the oil. The result is chips that are crispy on the outside, soft ... ...more good news to come: The Actifry can also be used for cooking frozen chips, scampi, chicken drumsticks, stir-fried vegetables and lots more besides - recipe book included
An odourless filter keeps your kitchen fresh, and you can check on progress through the viewing window
Everything except the base can go into the dishwasher, and of course there's no oil to filter after frying.
The truth
I have seen this demonstrated on shopping channels ...

Tefal Pro Fry Oleoclean fryer.
Review of Tefal FR 7009 PRO FRY Oleoclean by
Calabrian
Advantages: Easy to use and clean.
Disadvantages: None
...and keep clean. Although the Tefal FR7009 is not the cheapest on the market, it is the best we have come across. Argos originally priced it at £99.99, but reduced it to £79.99. It comes with clear instructions and is very easy to use. Full marks to Tefal for the Automatic Oil Filtration system, which allows the oil to drain away safely in its own container housed in the base of the unit after the cooking has been completed. It takes all the guess ...

==Kenwood DF520==
Review of Kenwood DF520 by
travellinggardener
Advantages: Good to cook with. Easy to clean.
Disadvantages: Rather large to store.
Kenwood DF520
I have found this fryer to be an efficient addition to my kitchen. It is rather bulky so advisable to have a cupboard to store it in, for, if you are like me, it will only be used on a few occassions. It cooks well with a good range of temperatures and has a reasonable sized basket for the food to be cooked. It is rather spoilt by the viewing window becoming hard to see through once cooking has commenced as it appears to steam ...

Cool touch Rotofryer! use half the oil!
Review of Delonghi F18316S by
Frenchyanj
Advantages: half the oil because of rotation, drain hose pipe, good food capacity
Disadvantages: slow warm up
DeLonghi Silver Rotofryer F18316S:
- Unique rotating basket - uses only half the oil of traditional deep fryers - Unique patented Easy Clean System with drain hose to remove oil - 1kg food capacity - 1 litre oil 50% less oil than other fryers of a similar food capacity - 99 minute digital timer with bell - Adjustable thermostat 150 - 190 with temperature reached light - External control basket - raise or lower with lid closed for extra safety - ... ...and oil vapour - Lid release button - Viewing window - Cooler touch body - Non stick bowl - Cord storage - Non-slip feet The good: Rotating basket means that less oil is used allowing you to be exonomical and food comes out crispy and dry. The basket also means that you do not have to turn the food half way through. Being burnt is not an issue with this fryer because of its cool touch body, the external control basket and non-slip feet. So it is ...

Great Kenwood Deep Fat Fryer
Review of Kenwood DF600 by
pcschof
Advantages: Great Fryer - with Coolwall - very easy to clean
Disadvantages: none so far
We bought this to replace our old Delonghi fryer and we havent been disappointed yet.
It holds 2 1/2 litres of oil at its maximum level and 2 litres at the minimum.
The heat setting is adjustable via a roller wheel towards the bottom of the unit and this makes it very user friendly. The lid is easy to open and the basket is very easy to remove from the bowl and also very easy to put back in. The great advantage of this fryer is that it is exceptionally ... ...are completely dishwasher safe. Making this fryer very friendly to use and to keep clean. The bowl is removable which makes it so easy to clean the rest of the unit.
It has an integrated filter in the lid, which is also washble.
The temperature control knob is very easy to use.
We paid £54 for this deep fat fryer when it was on special offer in Comet. We'd looked on the web and Comet was the cheapest we could find at the time. An excellent product ...
