A good fryer guaranteed to make you fat!
Review of Morphy Richards 45470 by hollypopple

Advantages: Good quality, high capacity, variable temperature
Disadvantages: Oil evaporates onto the units above it

I bought this deep fat fryer just over a year ago from Amazon.co.uk for about £50. It is a very good quality fryer with variable temperature control up to 190 degrees, and is an attractive brushed steel design. There is also an on-off button and a red indicator light which turns off when the required temperature has been reached. The basket can hold about 1.2kg of food, which is slightly more than most domestic fryers. It is very effective and cooks ...
...packs away neatly as the handle folds cleverly inside without touching the oil, so that the removable lid can cover it. You have to wait for several hours after using it before it is cool enough to put the lid back on. The main bowl lifts out for easy cleaning and the basket is dishwasher safe. The remaining parts have to be washed in the sink. The only problem I have experienced with this fryer is that you cannot use the lid while it is in use, ... Read review

Out of the frying pan on to the plate
Review of Morphy Richards 45075 3-IN- by Miskah

Advantages: 3 baskets, oblong shape. variable temperature, viewing window, cool walls
Disadvantages: It can't make fried food healthier

...Why I chose the Morphy Richards 45075: --------------------------------------------------------- It had all the features in my list above, plus it has this neat little basket trick… you get 3, 1 large one that is the length and width of the fryer give or take a few mm plus you get 2 half size baskets. This doesn’t seem to be much until you start to use it. No more dropping onion rings in the midst of the chips and then hunting for them, or taking ...
...The large rectangular basket is great for fish; no need to squash it curves to fit in a round fryer. They just lie neatly side by side stretched out nicely. This basket is a rise and fall one although the little ones aren’t you have to lift those by hand . The temperature control is accurate and there is an indicator light that tells you when it’s hit the right temp. The fryer looks pretty good too, so it doesn’t always get stuffed at the back of ... Murphy Richards deep fat fryer.
Review of Morphy Richards 45061 by smcccc

Advantages: Dishwasher safe.
Disadvantages: Heavy when full.

I bought my fryer 3 years ago~ MY OPPINION~ The reason I bought this one was because it has a variable thermostat~ (switches off automatically when it reaches the right temperature)~ which makes it very safe if you forget about it while its on,~ It looks good,~ Is fully dismantable and dishwasher safe.~ It has a large 3.6 litre oil capacity which does make it heavy to lift when full if you want to store it out of sight~. It also comes with a ...
...food,~ any food you can fry you can do it with this and always with good crispy golden results. It is very easy to dimantle and has a long cord with storage to hide the cord and plug out of sight~ It's easy to use~ Easy to empty~ Uses any type of oil~ and it's also easy to clean. After I use mine, I let it cool down and then give the outside a quick wipe with a slightly damp cloth and it looks good as new. I have never had any problems and ... Read review

Chips or no chips!
Review of Morphy Richards 45430 by Spongebob2

Advantages: Soooo easy to clean
Disadvantages: Bulky, takes up more room than a conventional fryer

...hope I stumbled across the Morphy Richards 3-in-1 basket fryer; it appeared to be everything I wanted. On first sight you have a large fryer. Inside are 3 baskets, one large, and two small. The beauty of this is you can use the large basket for your family portion of chips, but, if you are cooking a small meal for two you can use the two small baskets, one for chips, and the other for your fish or whatever else you are frying. The next test was ...
...of Comet and took the fryer to pieces, much to the embarrassment of my daughter. I was impressed. The whole unit comes to pieces. The bowl lifts out completely from the unit and then the control pod at the front can be removed. You are left with the carcass, the lid, the bowl and the baskets, taken apart in seconds and ready for easy cleaning. The beauty of being able to remove the bowl is that you can then take it away and discard your oil easily. ... Read review

Tefal Actifry caught fire on 5th use.
Review of Tefal FZ 7000 Actifry by Ishouldbesolucky

Advantages: Can make fresh low fat chips and wedges, easy to clean
Disadvantages: Bit big so takes up room, takes quite a long time to cook, caught on fire

I love the chips and wedges (that I made with fresh organic potatoes), and so do the family. It is much cheaper to make your own, once you have bought the product, but takes a longish time to cook - up to 45 mins depending on how much you cook. One kilo of wedges take 45 minutes. Less takes a little less time. The instructions are easy to follow from the recipe book, I haven't tried any of the interesting recipes in there. I can't use wheat flour ...
...two tablespoons of oil, and I added spices as per recipe but my own choice of spices. The actifry is easy to dismantle and clean in the dishwasher and it doesn't smell much when cooking. However after just 5 uses my actifry caught on fire and it is really lucky I noticed this right away or it could have been very serious, so it is going back to the retailer. I unplugged it and shut the lid and it went out, but produced a lot of chemical/plastic ... Read review
