DES80 technology too fragile Advantages: Sleek looking, easy to use design, heated while dehumidifying Disadvantages: Poor reliability I bought my Amcor DES80 in November 2005 to solve a humidity problem in my bathroom where I dried laundry which couldn't go into the tumble dryer. I chose this design because it used a new technology which allowed use at low temperatures, this is the coldest room in the house, due to using non-condensor technology, whilst also heating the room rather like a fan heater. It was also one of the better looking machines available, being sleek looking ... ...the back of your fridge! So it was unobtrusive in my bathroom and fit neatly against the wall. The machine worked excellently for a while (about two months), solving the damp problem, speeding up clothes drying and heating the room nicely, really nice to get out of the shower into a warm room, however it suddenly stopped collecting water despite appearing to be working. There's nothing humid about these! Advantages: Small and portable easy to operate. Disadvantages: You are only able to charge one at a time. In a previous rented house that I lived in a few years ago I was a bit of a hoarder and kept anything and everything, each room was filled with all my “needed” possessions and I had things crammed down beside my wardrobe and all the corners of my rooms were filled. I was always a clean person and my home did look clean just a little lived in. delonghi dehumifier DEC180e Advantages: portable, cheap to run, keeps windows and walls from being damp Disadvantages: price I have bought one of these as my flat was constantly damp, and was causing damage to walls, furniture and clothes. My windows were always condensed. I live in a 2 bedroom flat on the first floor, and this problem wasn't as bad as last year. This dehumidifier was ready to use out of the box not much assembly. There is continuous drain kit, and castors which makes it so easy to move around the home. As it is quite heavy.
