I was attracted to this lolly for a number of reasons. I consider Del Monte to be a quality brand that I trust and hoped the ice-lolly would be no exception. I also chose it as the flavours orange, strawberry and pineapple really appalled to me. I hoped hat it would be fairly natural and nice and juicy without being too sickly as I was looking for ... ...also attracted by the colourful wrapper.
The lolly looks really tempting. It is a regular arched shape, which I associate with lollies, and at 75 millilitres was a nice size. The flavours were in layers like a Zoom or Fruit Pastille lolly with the orange layer on top fading to the pinky red of the strawberry and the light yellow of the pineapple underneath. It has been hot, sweat pouring off my body and sticking to my clothes hot. In this weather I want a nice cool refreshing ice-lolly as I find ice cream and chocolate concoctions too heavy and rich, I was pleased to find a nice simple fruit flavoured lolly, Del Monte Fruitini fruit icein my local newsagents.
I was attracted to this lolly for a number of reasons. I consider Del Monte to be a quality brand that I trust and hoped the ice-lolly would be no exception. I also chose it as the flavours orange, strawberry and pineapple really appalled to me. I hoped hat it would be fairly natural and nice and juicy without being too sickly as I was looking for a really refreshing lolly. I must admit I was also attracted by the colourful wrapper.
It had a nice tempting fruity smell. I took a lick. It has a nice smooth consistency you would associate with a traditional ice-lolly. The orange was not the most distinctive flavour. It tasted a bit like diluting orange and found the strawberry to blend in after a few licks. The strawberry was sweet but not too artificial. I licked and licked until I got to the pineapple underneath. This was a real treat for me. It was pure unadulterated pineapple. It had a nice sharp tang to it so it made the lolly slightly grown up and not cloyingly sweet. Ii tasted just like the pineapple juice you get from the carton or perhaps even the tinned pineapple chunks pureed and frozen. I really was in heaven with this and felt I could have had a pure pineapple lolly. It would have been bliss. The only downside to it was that the lolly was quite sticky especially when it started to drip. I could feel the stickiness on my lips and arm.
I was in luck as it was fairly natural. It contains no preservatives, no artificial flavours, colours or sweetness. It contains an impressive 63% fruit juice (unfortunately they are from concentrates rather than pure squeezed fruit juice). I think this is one of the highest juice contents I have seen in a lolly apart from the lovely freshly squeezed ones Marks and Spencers do. An added bonus is that they contain your recombined dose of vitamin C for the day. These would be great for people who are not that into eating fresh fruit or vegetables (such as Duskman). They would also be suitable for dieters as a 75-gram lolly contains only 74 calories and less than one gram of fat. This is well in the limits for the daily treat on the Rosemary Conelly diet. The only thing that makes them less than angelic is the level of sugar. As well as the natural sugars in the fruit juice they add more of it. I feel this is not needed, as they would be sweet enough without it.
I bought my lolly in a newsagent for 70 pence which I thought was a reasonable price since it has such a high juice content. I gather from other reviews that smaller versions can be bought in multipacks. I shall be nipping down to my local Iceland or Farmfoods to see if they have any boxes as I really thought this was a nice refreshing almost healthy ice lolly that would appeal to both adults and children

The Packaging
~~~~~~~~~~~
These lollies can be found in the freezer section and come packaged in a box of 8. The box is predominantly orange with the Fruitini logo emblazoned across the front, exploding from the logo we see pieces of orange, strawberry and pineapple. The Del Monte logo is present in the top left hand corner and our attention is drawn to some pretty amazing claims - these lollies ... ...but I challenge you to keep them that long).
Well, I think you will agree that these are a very healthy option, great for kids and adults alike. I don't know about the man from Del Monte but Tekin definitely says YES!!!
Advantages: lovely taste, real fruit jiuce, only 1/2 WW point Disadvantages: none at all
...nice. Well, Fruitini by Del Monte have made a delicious Ice Lolly. It is a round lolly, like a mini-milk type lolly and it consists of three flavours, pineapple, strawberry and orange. It is made from real fruit juices and tastes absolutely fantastic! The flavours are banded, so one flavour is all the way through, with the other flavours on top, kind of like a zoom lolly.
...These are made by Del Monte.
Price: Cost is £1.00 for 10 ice lollies. This is the price at my local Farm Foods.
The Package is very colourful.
When I go shopping I have to buy these as my girls fight over them, so in some cases I have to buy 2 boxes.
Thankyou for reading my review on this product.
of product quality and trust to many millions of consumers worldwide. These lollies are actually made under licence by a company called Frederick's Dairies, as are DelMonte's 'Fruitini' ice-lolly range.
The pineapple 'FruitIce' lolly I'm reviewing here only comes in one other flavour; Orange.
The cardboard box is adorned in traditional DelMonte style, incorporating the DelMonte shield logo against a green background. Having consumed a fair few of these 'Pineapple' lollies already, I can verify that the quality generally associated with DelMonte products, is as evident as it ever was.
The box is a neat, brick-shape and size, with a detailed picture of what lies within boldly languishing across the front. The box's resilience is high, as proven by weathering the most brutal attacks by my children, whilst engaged in frenzied rummages ...
