Advantages: too many to mention Disadvantages: some compatibility issues with Vista
...from my expereince this notebook stands well in front of its rivals, not only in price but the excellent aftercare, and this applies to all DellLatitude and other models. it is very robust copes with all that is required and could be a replacement for a desktop as it is powerful enough.
From configureing your own requirements to receiving your laptop takes about three weeks depending on how and where bought. It comes well Packed with all the necessary, power adaptor, and media disks if required.
For my part i chose the 1.7GHz core duo, with 1GB memory in one slot (1x1024), this allows for greater expansion later if required, the harddrive was a 7200rpm ata insted of the norm 5400 for performance and the graphics intel 945 with accelerator.
The operating system was Vista 32bit Business which seems to be more stable than XP however...

I would also opt for a larger harddrive than the 80GB, as well as 7200RPM over the 5400RPM. The 2GB of RAM has been plenty for all of my extensive computing needs....
