Advantages: Good spec, reasonable price, great processor Disadvantages: The piano black surface attracts dust and dirt.
I purchased the DellInspiron 1545 laptop back in January for my daughter's birthday. I had a limited budget but wanted to get her something with decent enough spec for playing computer games should she wish to do this, and a large harddrive as she is a big fan of making videos on her digital camera and downloading music - two things which can eat up harddrive space.
I did a fair bit of research before purchasing and decided I wanted to get the best spec I possibly could for my money and the Inspiron ticked all the boxes. I paid £399 in January 2009 in Currys for the laptop which was the absolute limit on my budget.
The Dell I purchased has a dark blue coloured lid, however the rest of it is a shiny piano black which looks lovely. I would have preferred metal for the mousepad area - it feels sturdier and doesn't seem to attract ...
Advantages: Cheap, good brand, lots of features, Disadvantages: Probably not powerful enough for games, bottom of the market now

In the few months they have had it, I've only had to help them out a couple of times. One of these problems did require a reinstall of Vista (something I haven't had to do on my own machine), but that proved to be easy to do - I just used the DVD that came with the computer, left it running overnight and in the morning, it was all working again, with the bonus that none of my ...
Advantages: COMPACT , LIGHT, SLEEK LOOKING Disadvantages: OVER SENSITIVE CONTROL PAD
This was our second laptop. Our first was an IBM thinkpad which was a good solid performer.
The dell is an excellent replacement for old IBM.
The performance is all i will ever need .
It has ample disk space and memory and ,when linked up to our 8mb broadband, it is plenty fast!!!
The only downside that i have found when using it is that the control surface can be very very sensitive and sometimes results in you accidentally highlighting the whole page , when you are only trying to navigate your cursor.
Overall though it is a very smart package and in my opinion is nice and compact and very sleek to look at .
The "shiny" surface of the computer makes it look very modern although can be a pain to keep clean , especially if it is black like mine is.
All in all i would thoroughly recommend this laptop. ...
