...presume even though these are Dell speakers were made by Altec. Although I could be wrong but why else would they be on each of the speakers. Nowhere on the speakers does it actually mention the word Dell. So really there is no proof that they are dell speakers except for the packaging they come in.

I have had these speakers for around five years now, I got them free with my computer, when I purchased off the website. At the bottom of each speaker is the name Altec Lansing, who I presume even though these are Dell speakers were made by Altec. Although I could be wrong but why else would they be on each of the speakers. Nowhere on the speakers does it actually mention the word Dell. So really there is no proof that they are dell speakers except for the packaging they come in.

The instructions in the box were pretty easy to read and no installation disc was needed, you just set up the cables from the main speaker. Ok now I did not set this up myself, as I did not have a clue how to set the whole computer up so my husband did it. When he did the speakers it took him a mere 5 minutes. The speakers are a dark grey colour, with light grey at the front. They are very easy to clean, as they are plastic. Unless you get the front of the speakers dirty, as this is made of fabric to ensure that the sound comes through properly. If you have kids like mine keep them away from the speakers with pens. Mine drew on the speakers; on the surrounding it came out but on the front where the fabric is I still have pen marks.

The speaker has 10 different sound settings, which can only be changed on the main speaker, the sound does go really loud, on a low setting the sound is really clear, all the way up to around the 7th setting, if you have it any louder the speakers start to shake and the sound becomes muffled, so I would not recommend using a high setting as you may blow the speakers.

I have had these for 5 years and have never had to replace them, they work really well, also when switched on there is a green light that is on to let you know your speakers are on, when turned off the green light also goes off. I have never had any problems with the speakers and the cables have never come loose or broken. To say I got this free with my computer I think they are great. I probably would not have bought these myself, but I am glad I have got them. They are just basic speakers, not flashy or anything, but they really do the job, so I am really pleased with them. The only problem I sometimes have is my sound does go off, but I do not think this was due to the speakers because when I restart my computer my sound has come back, and the green light is always on. I would definitely recommend buying these speakers if they are just for everyday use, but if you want them to blast music out, then I would go for different speakers, as these are not very good for loud sounds.
