you won't be unhappy with this pda. My only word of caution is that if size is really important in the sense that you need something small, you're not going to love this unit. but if you need to do writing or spread sheets you will. I use it most for writing reports, fiction, journalistic, all kinds as I am a writer. Anyone who needs the unit for extreme writing needs is really going to love it. I haven't had much of a problem on transfer. I think I had one corrupt file once, and compared to some people's stories, that's pretty good. I found the keyboard indispensable. As mentioned before, I really do a lot of writing, sometimes over 3000 words a day, and this little unit has been dropped on the floor and everywhere. I find it highly versatile, and it sure has better graphics than the Palms in the same price range. The keyboard is a little expensive, but I found it worth every penny.
The fact that it runs on Microsoft OS is great. Anybody who knows it is going to feel very familiar with this. Though I've heard of some complaint over the shape, I found it easy to handle. For me, personally, one of the advantages in hand-held work is that it's a little bigger. The really tiny ones seem a bit of a pain and I tend to fumble them a little and I'm not sure they'd withstand a good impat with the floor like this one will.
If money's not too much of a problem, you can pick up an extra memory card for about $40, and, it would be well worth it. I filled the thing up very fast and had a couple of problems as the memory reached capacity, but that's just because I really work mine. For the average user, it'd probably take much longer to fill up the memory, but the card's great. The back up function is super and it saved me from losing tons of material so I suggest you use it!
One thing I wasn't happy about was the level of customer support. I got referred to a website, and, I don't know, it might just be me but, wouldn't be better to have a detailed manual or a more helpful person who understands how to use the thing on the phone?
