Dell Desktop Dimension 9100

...as a replacement for my Dell Inspiron Laptop, which i have never had any problems with. I normally build PC's myself, being an IT expert, but this Dell offered a few features you simply could not buy at the time.

In essence, this was the first comercially available BTX based dual core computer. A bit of a milestone in computing terms.

It comes with a choice of dual core processors, the Pentium D range (820, 830, 840 ...
...monitors, i would recommend asking Dell to subtract it from your order, and buy a well reviewed one by PC PRO for yourself.

You will not be let down by this computer! The only thing that beats it currently in my opinion, are the new Intel Core Duo processors, but these have not yet made it into a dsktop format.  ... more

It comes with a choice of dual core processors, the Pentium D range (820, 830, 840 and the new 9 series processors, based on a 65nm architecture). Dual core processors are essentially two processors on one chip, allowing incredible multi-tasking. I have barely ever seen the windows hourglass since i bought this PC.

The other important innovation this computer has is a BTX form factor. What this means is that the motherboard, the thing that links everything in a pc together, has been re-arranged to allow the minimum number of fans inside the case. This means the computer is quieter and kept cooler than conventional ATX computers (still used by the majority of manufacturers). You can barely hear mine, even at night when everyone is asleep, even under the most demanding tasks.

This computer will fly through anything you throw at it. Video editing, high definition photo editing, hardcore cames (will require a good graphics card), database construction, multiple virtual operating systems along with all the usual computing tasks, but it cost much less than £1000!

A beautiful case with easy access and lots of conectors compliments the interior well. I highly reccomend buying a Raid 0 hard drive array, as this will allow even faster gaming and hard drive access, as it uses two hard drives but makes them look like one, effectively doubling the speed with which you can save and retreive information.

This is the perfect PC if you want to ensure that you won't need to buy a new PC for many years to come.
