I bought this with the 8800GTX card so as I could play some of the new games and I have not been disappointed. The only problem I discovered was the disk drives vibrate through the case and cause noise, this can be cured by sticking a few bits of foam rubber between the drive rails. The monitor is first class and the entire package is good value.
There is not a lot I can add to this review, it started off as a quick review but I decided to expand it slightly by adding a few more bits of information.
First off, if you are going to buy this machine, bear in mind it is NOT the same as a standard PC, it uses Intel's BTX form factor motherboards, as opposed to the standard ATX.
in practise and actual use, this does not really matter, it does however make for a much quieter PC as fans are reduced to a minimum and that helps keep noise down, but may affect upgrades later on.
On this model, I specified SATA hard drives, (in a "raid" configuration) and got 2 300 Gb drives that behave as one 600Gb drive (or something like that, i don't really understand it)
I then discovered that my optical drives (one DVD and one DVDRW) are also SATA, something to bear in mind if you are upgrading and want to use your own components.
again, like most modern machines these days, there is no floppy drive, just a multimedia card reader in its place. there are 2 front mounted USB sockets, plus a headphone and microphone socket, please note that if you plug headphones in, the rear speaker output is disabled.
The supplied monitor has both HDMi and analog inputs, and you get both cables as well as a converter plug, but it goes without saying that you should use the HDMi and put the other cable and plug away.
The supplied keyboard and mouse are not up to much, but would do as a standby.
it has a vista performance score of 5.4 although with 4Gb of ram that should rise to 5.9 as all the other scores are 5.9, its just the ram scoring 5.4
To sum up, this machine does everything an equivalent EPS one does for about £400 less, BUT it is not upgradeable. pay your money and take your choice.....

Well.. I love this computer, ive had it for about 6 months now and its fantastic! I dont know about all the technical stuff, sorry!
To start with, it comes with windows vista home premium which is fantastic and very easy to use. Its also fabulous graphics! It goes very fast on the internet which is great, but it takes a while to start up. If you are looking to buy a new computer because you have an old one, this wont seem slow to start up to you, ... ...I generally just put mine on sleep mode overnight and whenever im not on it, its silent just like it is turned off and takes 2 seconds to start up.
It has a very big memory, i have endless songs and photos saved on it with no problem with space at all. If you are new to computers, this would be great for you because it is so easy to use and understand.
Sometimes it is abit noisy when it is turned on but i solved this by squishing a thick book ontop ...

Advantages: Powerful, Good Looking, Large Memory and Space Disadvantages: Heavy, Sold as it is with poor starting performance, a bunch of crap software installed.
...give much detailed information, but i recommend if you choose DellDimension9200, be ready for everything, and dont forget that the warranty, the most expensive one is the best thing you can choose, rather than memory, space or accessories.
I recommend a Dell 5.1 Sound System, Logitech Web Camera, Windows Home Edition rather than Media Center, pick the printer only if it's for free, because its very poor, and a 19'' monitor should be the best to choose, 1024MB DDR RAM should give you enough performance, and dont make the same mistake picking 500GB because its hard to fill it up and believe me doing that reduces computer performance, 160-320GB is totally enough.
Intel Pentium has its own advantages, and a computer is optimal for playing games, media, or basic office work, but i dont believe this machine can survive more than 3 years...

It comes with a good memory and a brillant hard drive. with this dimension everything is easy to install. most broadband comes with a cd software but most dimension find the software for you and install it automatically. even you use a minimum of 25 software ( games, business software, home software etc) this dimension will support all and wil still be fast. technical problem get solve easily with dell as their latest technology where they can connect to your computer and do the work while you relaxing, no more holding on the phone or spend hours by the computer. ...After the initial delivery date was put back by ten days, I was beginning to worry that I might not get my computer for a while. However, it arrived two days later. I have been using the product now for 3 weeks and have found the computer to be outstanding. It is everything that I could have wanted and more.
