    If you want a strong, reliable, good value for money laptop then this is the one for you. I bought my inspiron 1000 about 10 months ago for £419.99 and it hasn't missed a beat since. From the moment I opened the box it took around 10 minutes to get up and running and from then on it has worked a treat. I'll give you a few specifications: 2.2Ghz Intel Celeron processor 256 MB RAM 30 GB Hard Drive (OK Not as big as some other computers on the market, but more than adequate for most people) 3 USB Ports PC card slot 64 MB onboard graphics CD/RW DVDrom Drive Complete with windows XP Home Edition ... more

    Advantages Advantages Affordable, stylish laptop package for multiple usage eg, home, business, games etc..

    When entering my second year at university i was fed up of lugging around the full desktop package. A monitor which was so bulky, a weighty mini tower, and those fiddlery mouse, keyboards and speakers. So i decided i needed a laptop. I had a strick budget however. I wanted to get an up to date, good performance laptop all for under £500 including full delievery. Dell Ltd was able to answer all my problems with the Dell Inspiron 1000.     Advantages Advantages Good battery life, nice screen, 3 USB Ports, nice keyboard.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No serial or parallel ports, only has a touchpad.

    Configuration: 14", 1024x768 Screen, 512Mb RAM, 64Mb Video RAM, 30Gb Hard disk, DVD-ROM Drive. I have had my Dell Inspiron 1000 since the beginning of January. As with all laptops I have bought I reinstalled Windows and removed all the "Recovery Partitions", then installed all the software I commonly use. Because I use it for Web development, image editing and programming it has some quite demanding applications on it, for example; Visual studio .Net, Adobe CS Suite and Microsoft Office 2003. Performance wise I can have all these programs open, and a few more and it still runs at a nice fast ... more
