The first good thing about this laptop is that it’s a dell. Dell are a huge computing company, and are the biggest name around. The only bad thing about them is that you can usually only buy online. This is easy and your laptop should be delivered to your door within a week, however its not so good if you cant see a laptop before you buy it, so this is one thing that puts me of buying a laptop online. In a word - FANTASTIC - a brilliant powerful portable computer, I recently upgraded by old laptop, which looks like a relic of the 1960's. The Dell Inpspiron 1501 has everything that matters for the average user. Fantastic looks and also has the muscle to back it up, it performs very well in all aspects of computing ranging from standard word processing tasks to computer games. This is a excellent computer for either home or small office. The downside to it is that it has no firewire installed, and no S-Video port, also intergrated graphics , which uses some of your memory , therefor reducing speed a little. Having said that the AMD 64x2 dual processor make multi - tasking easy. It has Vista Home installed , this makes finding and using programmes much easier.It has a good quality DVD writer for dual format discs. It is lightweight for mobile use and very robust. I am no expert with computers, have no background in knowledge of the workings of 'processors' or 'gigahertz' and use my computer simply for surfing the internet, writing essays and playing computer games.
