My new friend... Diamond review

AdvantagesMany

DisadvantagesSound isn't great but that's all to whinge about

"~~*~~*~~ Dell Inspiron 1525 ~~*~~*~~ Whilst the demise of any electrical object is always a sad occasion - I felt my laptop was a personal friend and thus when it developed serious motherboard malfunction, I decided that I would purchase a new friend for the old laptop (rather like obtaining a new puppy when old yellow's on his way out) and transfer the information before it was lost in the electrical ether. The search for my new best friend ..." Read review

Dell Inspiron 1525 - nothing too inspiring

AdvantagesDoes the basics, good sized keyboard and buttons, reasonably quick

DisadvantagesBattery failure, quite heavy, gets hot quickly

"...I ended up buying the Dell Inspiron 1525 and am still using this laptop. Although it's a bit dated and has a few annoyances, it still fulfils its purpose so I see no reason to replace it until absolutely necessary. ==Price and Availability== I bought this laptop directly through Dell, basically because I didn't really know what I was doing so I let my dad lead the way! There was an offer on at the time and I think I paid around 300 which ..." Read review

A good budget laptop

AdvantagesLooks nice, works well, some nice added touches

DisadvantagesA few build and technical issues

"...know, an unusual thing with Dell is that they only sell laptops online, and all products can be fully customised to meet your specifications. For around 329 you can buy the base level specifications of an Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor T1400(1.73Ghz), 2Gb RAM and a 120Gb hardrive. More than sufficient for an entry level laptop. However these specifications can be customised up to a 2Ghz processor, 4GB RAM and a massive 250Gb hardrive. This would ..." Read review

Great value all-rounder

AdvantagesRobust, looks good, great for typing, good value for money

DisadvantagesEthernet port is a little tempremental sometimes

"...compared to previous computers. The Dell website is always stocked up with new drivers should any bugs have been found, and friends that have had to send things back after a year or two have found the support team very helpful. An essential thing to buy is the extended warranty; it will ensure the computer lasts you a long time. Another thing I bought was the Dell Remote - this is available when you are customising what you want. This is really great, ..." Read review

The Dell Inspiron

AdvantagesScroll-wheel touchad, wide screen, LOADS of memory

DisadvantagesOverheating is a problem

"I got hold of this laptop last year, after my boyfriend spilt coke over his previous laptop and then claimed on his insurance for a new one. The company sent him a certain amount of Curry's/Comet vouchers so he could select his own, and we picked this one. I'm not a computer expert, and he knows a lot more than me and I know he would've have pick one with rubbish specifications. It had lots of internal memory, which is what I think initially attracted ..." Read review
