Having purchased this laptop back in April 2008, I can say that after just over a year of owning and using this model every day for work and studying it has been a great performer and done everything I have wanted it to in a timely fashion. I upgraded the RAM to 3gb from the standard 2gb and went with the 250gb hard drive. So far ive been able to work with Sage Line 50 Accounts, VMware test labs and use large powerpoint documents with no problem in performance at all.
The only issue I did have recently was that the hard drive seemed to be a little more audible at times and a little warmer to the touch that normal. I ran the dell diagnostics and found that there was an error with the hard drive. I called Dell support the next day, gave them the error code and they had a courier change out the hard drive for a brand new bigger drive (a new 320gb Seagate drive!).
Overall im very happy with my purchase and am not upset by the hard drive issue as Dell were very friendly and very swift in swapping out my drive in a matter of days
Advantages: Great price, Amazing Laptop, it comes in a wide Variety of colours ... .. . Wow ! Disadvantages: I can really honestly say that I have nothing to complain about !

Review of Dell Inspiron 1525
Advantages: Can take it into Best Buy for Geek Squad. This is convenient, because Best Buy has many locations. Disadvantages: Slow, keypad breaks easily, internet issues, overpriced.
