The Dell inspiron 1545 is a good, reasonable laptop for someone like a college student who has lots of work to do on Microsoft word and want to have the ability to multitask such as listening to music without any lag or slowness.
The laptop has an Intel Celeron processor (2.2GHz), which is great for multitasking but bad for games. If you want a laptop for gaming the best processor to go for (at a reasonable price) is a Core 2 duo processor. I recently bought The Sims 3 and it doesn't run as smoothly as it could, mainly being the fact that the processor and graphics card (Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family) is the most basic. Other features is the built-in camera which isn't very good, the pixels are poor, but does have a fun feature that lets you change your face shape and background etc but if you like to Messenger then I suggest you go out and buy a better webcam.
However, the laptop has 3GB RAM which is sufficient for running Windows Vista home basic. It also has plenty storage space on the hard drive (160GB), it is lightweight and comes in some very nice glossy colours. There is also 3 USB ports (two on the left and one on the right), a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/Disk drive, media card reader and is also a built in wireless LAN (802.11 b/g). The screen is a 15.6 wide screen which makes it great for movies although, if you want to watch them your going to need the power adapter because the battery life lasts about 1 and 1/2 hours.
Overall, this is a good multitasker for the price and has great performance, provided you are not going to play games on it, and is good value.

Advantages: The look of the dell inspiron laptop seems more classy then other notepads. It is simplistic. Disadvantages: Maybe Dell Have gone too simplistic with this model as the features are nothing to rave about
Advantages: Easy to use, perfect for storing vast amounts of data, very big hard drive! Disadvantages: No webcam, poor battery life when watching films/episodes
Advantages: the processor is using Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 and the 2.0GHz speed 3Gb RAM Disadvantages: absence of a webcam facility, Intel GMA4500 graphics card
