When I originally looked at the Dell Inspiron last March I was plesed, yet not blown away. The model was a solid, original product at a competitive price. However Dell's upgrade to that model, the Inspiron 6400, is most definitely aimed at ther entertianment line of the market.

++++++++++UPSIDES++++++++++++ It is clear that the new model comes with an advanced specification and is certainly more influential than its' predecessor. The new model is considerably lighter, and also includes a range of upgraded components. In ways of sticking with it's entertainment category the 6400's 15.4-inch widescreen display comes in WXGA or WSXGA+ native resolutions. The 6400 model also includes Dell's mediadirect feature which allows CDs and DVDs to be played as well as allowing photos etc to be stored.
------------------DOWNSIDES------------------ The 6400 model includes Integrated Intel graphics only, suprisingly for an entertainment laptop there is no option to upgrade. I have also found that the model lacks the TV tuner found in most larger entertainment hubs.
Overall the dell is suppplied at an incredibly competitive price, certainly making it a recommendable laptop wishing to buy a new model without sheling out too much. I have found the battery to be very long lasting in the three weeks that I have owned my model and am also pleased with the quality that the model has benn acquired to. I would certainly recommed this product as it has prove dto me to be an extremely reliable product in an extremely competitive market.
