    I have had my Dell Inspiron since 2006 and I have not found a fault with it yet. (Touch wood!) It has survived two years of univeristy with me, being used everyday, and taken a few knocks yet it has not given up on me once. I find the battery life is one of the best I know which is great for moving around the house. It has four USB points, I don't know why I would need four but I have used 3 before. It is not too heavy, but laptops seem to be getting lighter with every new model. I can carry it in one hand, due to its lightness and its small width.     It is a very simple setup, so quick and easy to start with. Has a good battery life and charges quickly. However it is not the lightest laptop you could go for.

    this laptop wasn't cheap as i got the vista business package and little extras. however it was worth it as i think it will last. its amazingly light (my boyfriend has an inspiron, but a bigger one so he always thinks mine is tiny) and very easy to set up and use. the connectivity is great, wireless and bluetooth never fail. screen is just the right size, and its not broken yet (had it about a year so not long) the other thing is it seems to take ages to load up and shut down, but that could be vista etc the only problem i ever have is that the keys break. they dont break off, just the thing ... more

    This is my first laptop so I dont have anything to compare it but overall I am delighted with my Inspiron 640m.It was indeed easy to set up and the speed is more than adequate. Not a light object to carry around but for what I need it for it more than fits the bill.The screen is indeed very dark if run off battery but i find it fine when run from the mains.The only downside I found was with Dell themselves as their customer service leave much to be desired.     Advantages Advantages Set-up and use have been straight forward; in built wireless has been extremely usefull.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Scratches extremely easily and is quite weighty

    If you are looking for a laptop that is quick and easy to set-up then this one could be for you. In all it took less than 10 minutes from delivery before everything was fully functional. I have so far experienced no problems using the computer and have kept everything up to date with dells website, this is easy to do as a pop up appears when updates are available. The in built wireless has been extremely usefull to me and the function to switch from one network to another when changing location is easy to use. Although the speed of processing has decreased, it still operates at a good pace ... more
