I purchased this netbook from Currys for around £279 after having touchpad roughness issues with my first netbook purchase (I got a [different] replacement), and I'm quite happy with this netbook.
This netbook comes with 1GB of memory, 160GB hard drive space (I believe), Intel Atom N270 processor, 10.1" screen and Windows XP Home Edition. The netbook I purchased from Currys came with a 3-cell battery with average battery life of up to 2 hours 40 minutes.
The overall look of the netbook is appealing although can get very greasy easily (especially the top cover and the screen itself - but a good wipe of the top cover is all that is needed to clean again).
-- Keyboard --
The keyboard is quite nicely sized, may not be to all tastes but I can type on it pretty much fine - may take some adjustment as with most other netbooks keyboards but the keyboard is much better than what I've seen on other netbooks. The keyboard is quite loud during typing but that especially is noticeable since I type only with my 2 index fingers.
-- Touchpad --
This is the only part of the netbook I don't like the most. The touchpad buttons are part of the touchpad itself (you press down on the bottom left- and right-side of the touchpad to do left and right click respectively) so makes it difficult to do click and dragging. Of course, you can left click by tapping to, as usual. The feel of the touchpad isn't too bad, not as smooth as my ADVENT laptops touchpad but not so rough that its not usable without your finger not being able to glide smoothly. The touchpad is nice and wide too, not too small.
-- Webcam --
The webcam quality is fantastic - I believe its 1.3MP. Nothing more to add to this really other than it doesn't really work too well in low light situations for obvious reasons.
-- Microphone --
I believe the 10v comes with a microphone but I haven't tested this as of yet.
-- Speakers --
The speakers are quite good, fine for listening to music, etc. Not too bad at all.
-- Speed & General Usage --
Having 1GB of RAM is well sufficient for Windows XP, so I think this netbook will be fine for general computing usage, such as Microsoft Office, Internet surfing, MSN messaging, etc. I've tried Windows 7 on this netbook and it runs quite well and everything works out of the box - wireless, etc.
-- Summary --
In summary, this netbook is a good purchase and is good for those specifically looking for netbooks. If your looking for netbooks based on the cheaper price, at the £279 price I paid (you may be able to find it cheaper) you may be able to find a good standard laptop for just under £90-£100 more.
