Advantages: Good spec, reasonable price, great processor Disadvantages: The piano black surface attracts dust and dirt.
the dust the way the piano black plastic does - however that's a small quibble. The screen is widescreen and measures 15.6 inches and overall it's pretty lightweight and easy to carry about if you wish to do so.
So - what came in the box?
As well as the laptop there was an instruction manual, mains lead, Dell restoration CD-ROMs and a CD-ROM for Works 9.
The laptop had Windows Vista Premium pre-installed - and I worried that this might be a challenge for me as it was my introduction to Vista - however setting the machine up was a piece of cake.
I merely switched it on and dealt with a few prompts as Vista set up and then the computer was up and running. It has wifi installed and this picked up my wireless connection without any problems - and once I entered the security details for my network we were home and dry and online in no time!

Advantages: sleek looks, nice screen, comfy keyboard, well positioned ports etc Disadvantages: media buttons hard to find,
I've had a Studio 1535 for about a year now and that's given me plenty of time to get a good idea of how this laptop works.
The first thing I really liked about the machine was that Dell allow you to customise pretty much every aspect when you order online. I also ordered the larger battery pack which, although it makes the machine heavier, does give me 5 hours of battery life for lighter tasks and doubles as a heat sink by raising the machine up and allowing air to flow underneath to cool it.
Now you might not need specs as high as mine, and the beauty of the online build is that you can choose as wide or narrow range of specs as you need and not pay any more or less than you want to.
Once the machine arrived and I ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of Dell Studio 15
Advantages: COMPACT , LIGHT, SLEEK LOOKING Disadvantages: OVER SENSITIVE CONTROL PAD
This was our second laptop. Our first was an IBM thinkpad which was a good solid performer.
The dell is an excellent replacement for old IBM.
The performance is all i will ever need .
It has ample disk space and memory and ,when linked up to our 8mb broadband, it is plenty fast!!!
The only downside that i have found when using it is that the control surface can be very very sensitive and sometimes results in you accidentally highlighting the whole page , when you are only trying to navigate your cursor.
Overall though it is a very smart package and in my opinion is nice and compact and very sleek to look at .
The "shiny" surface of the computer makes it look very modern although can be a pain to keep clean , especially if it is black like mine is.
All in all i would thoroughly recommend this laptop. ...
