Advantages: Screen size and resolution is huge, good quality, dual input Disadvantages: size and weight, screen can be slightly blurred when you're very close to it
I bought one of these monitors some months ago now second hand on an auction site, mainly because I wanted something big and cheap. I was lucky enough to only pay £50 for it as it had a small spot of screen burn in one corner (which goes with regular degaussing) and some tiny marks on the glass which you can only see when they monitor is turned off. So far it's proven to be a bargain.

The huge display gives up to 2048x1536 resolution which means it's ideal for photograph manipulation and gaming, handily they have provided 2 VGA ports so a PC and games console can be plugged in at the same time, needing only one button press to swap between which port is used, an excellent idea as it means there is no undue wear and tear that you might get from removing and replacing connectors all the time.
I use mine with my xbox 360 and it looks easily as crisp and clear as it does on a HDTV, really does the graphics justice and for the price of it and a cable you can get the most out of your games console. Well worth it alone even if you don't have a PC!
To look at it's quite a nice sleek design, not a lot else can be said about it really!
On the downside though there are a few issues. Due to the type of flat screen they use with trinitron screens it has 2 very faint lines that divide the screen into 3 sections, they're barely noticable unless you look for them but it's a trait of the technology that they all come with.
Size wise they are huge and need a very sturdy place to sit, many cheaper desks would not be able to take the weight, even the one I have bows slightly in the middle so i've had to support it with another piece of wood cut down to size!
They can run warm in the summer and this will heat up small rooms in no time, not good when it's pushing 30 oC and you are trying to cool down!
This monitor reminded me that LCD technology is still a mile apart in terms of quality and clarity, CRT is still the best despite the size disadvantage.
Not sure if they can be bought new these days but either way if you buy one old or new it's well worth the money. Brilliant piece of kit.
...a bargain. Although its badged Dell the monitor incorporates the Sony FD Trinitron® flat screen tube, which gives you outstanding vibrant images at very high resolutions. This monitor would probably suit the power users among us, for CAD design and desktop publishing and such and gaming. If you demand high quality for a low price, then i would recommend this, its robust and affordable, with all the quality of a monitor with a price tag twice as much.
... ...this monitor, I believe they are so insignificant you'll over look them. Because the monitor uses the Sony FD Trinitron® flat screen tube it has two very faint lines that run horizontal across the screen, about 4 inches apart, i myself didn't know this at the time of purchase and was led to believe it was faulty. But, as it turns out they are built this way! If like me you have a very keen eye, you'll soon pickup on it, but within 10 or 15 minutes, ...

The Dell P1130 was designed to accommodate a wide variety of users ranging from home and small offices to large corporate environments. This monitor incorporates the FD Trinitron picture tube - FD, or Flat Display, means that glare from ambient lighting is greatly reduced and straight lines look straight, from all angles. Displaying brilliant images at a maximum resolution of up to 1600x1200 pixels, this monitor is ideal for Microsoft Windows, CAD/CAM/CAE, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, internet browsing, and any other application that demands large screen size and high resolutions.
