It seems dell have concentrated more on the quality of print than the efficiency of it. ...to its sluggish printing, the Dell 922 scanned quickly and did it to almost perfection. The limited fax ability is however another let down and anyone buying a printer primarily for this feature should be put off by its limited capability's.

Buying a printer should be simple, a basic system that prints on paper. Todays world however is complex meaning the newest technology also comes with the same complexity that is rarely needed. Buying something as simple as a printer can lead to potential money in the bank or a full financial disaster.
First things first is the actual printing. Yes its scanning and faxing capability's are exciting additions although theres no point getting away from the fact that you have bought a printer to PRINT. The good news is that the Dell Photo All In One Printer 922 is exceptional at this enabling you to have a fine quality of print whenever you may need it. The bad news is that unfortunately the print speed is quite slow. Anyone with busy schedules and a heavy work load would become increasingly frustrated and opt to throw this sluggish machine out of the window. It seems dell have concentrated more on the quality of print than the efficiency of it.
Impressive, though, is the preview option available through the All-in-One Center software which lets you scan, fax, copy, edit photos and perform other tasks from your PC desktop. This makes the system very easy to use making the most complex of things dazzle in simplicity. The copying is the best i have ever seen on a computer allowing you to produce up to 99 copies all at once. The scanning is also an immense feature. By contrast to its sluggish printing, the Dell 922 scanned quickly and did it to almost perfection. The limited fax ability is however another let down and anyone buying a printer primarily for this feature should be put off by its limited capability's.
In terms of ink although ink costs can soar with an inkjet, the Dell 922's high-yield ink cartridges offer reasonably priced colour ink and somewhat pricier black ink. Black ink cartridges coming at around £17 and colour cartridges at around £30. Mine haven't been replaced in 6 months and i use my printer regularly.
Overall if your dream printer has a fast scanner and produces high quality prints this is the printer you need. However people wanting overall speed and fax capability's your money is better spent else where.

Quick review of Dell Photo All-in-One Printer 922
This is a good printer for home use. Backed up with Dell's world winning consumer support.
It is a ALL-IN-ONE including Scanning, Printing, Copying and faxing technology. Cannot be used for heavy duty cycle.
Software are little hard to control and need a good technical knowledge or frequent customer support.
Best part is that you can get a good print quality and the cartridges are relatively cheaper. You can get them from the Dell Stores or Order online. You can order the printer on the Dell's website as well.
Technical part is little hard to understand but, with the technical knowledge it will become easy for you. ...

I bought this printer as part of a package with my new computer. The quality of the printouts is high, and the printing speed is nice and quick. The scanner and fax functions are also handy, and it produces a good quality copy. However, after a short while I was experiencing quite a few problems with the printer. I noticed that the quality of the printouts had been vastly reduced, with lots of streaking occurring. Another very annoying problem I ... ...of paper jams it has. Nearly every time I attempt to print, it does not recognise that there is paper in the machine. The instruction manual does not really help with the problem, just telling me to "check that the paper is loaded correctly".
