Advantages: Great image quality, very adjustable Disadvantages: Subtle color-tracking errors in the grayscales, slightly wobbly
The Dell UltraSharp 1707FP raises the bar on what you can expect to get from a 200 pound LCD. The monitor combines great image quality with a wonderfully sleek design, and it offers excellent adjustability including a pivoting screen. Also onboard are sensible extras such as four USB ports and an audio input.
at the back of the monitor, the 1707FP has connection ports for audio, DVI-D, VGA, and one upstream and two downstream USB 2.0 ... ...you can buy from the dell website for approximatly 20 pounds.
Four small, well-labeled buttons on the 1707FP's front bezel let you switch between digital and analog input, launch the onscreen menu (OSM), navigate down and up within the OSM, and power on or off the monitor. The OSM itself is simple and straightforward, though we wish the 1707FP offered dedicated buttons for brightness and contrast adjustments.

at the back of the monitor, the 1707FP has connection ports for audio, DVI-D, VGA, and one upstream and two downstream USB 2.0 ports; two more downstream USB ports are stealthily tucked into the left-hand side of the screen. I have rarely seen such an impressive assortment of connections in a 17-inch LCD. A quick-release button lets you easily remove the panel for mounting on a wall or an arm mount. However there are no built in speakers in the omnitor, however there is a sound attachment you can buy from the dell website for approximatly 20 pounds.

The Dell UltraSharp 1707FP's thin bezel is attractive, and its two-tone black-and-silver color scheme and slightly space-age design will blend in with any home or office environment. Most impressive is the 1707FP's adjustability: the panel tilts 5 degrees forward and 20 degrees backward, swivels smoothly 45 degrees left and right, and pivots easily between portrait and landscape mode. The 1707FP also offers 5 inches of height adjustment--as much as we've seen on any LCD. The monitor is slightly top-heavy, and the panel wobbles with even slight adjustments, though it won't tip over.
DVD playback looks better than average, which i partially attribute to the 1707FP's quick, 8-millisecond pixel-response rate. I saw less noise in backgrounds than we usually see on LCDs, and the 1707FP's colours, including flesh tones, looks accurate and vivid. Gaming tests were equally impressive, with vibrant color and no noticeable image irregularities.
Tested at its 1,280x1,024 native resolution, the Dell UltraSharp 1707FP delivered an excellent performance on CNET Labs' DisplayMate-based tests,(the test results were aqquired from the internet). The 1707FP's color scales are nearly flawless, with bright, vivid colors throughout the spectrum and just a small amount of compression at the dark end of the scale. The 1707FP's text is dark, distinct, and easy to read. The monitor's only significant flaws is in its grayscales, which progressed fairly evenly from dark to light but showed slight pink, green, blue, and brown tints.
The Dell 1707FP comes with an industry-standard three-year warranty that can be extended to four or five years forapproximatly 30 pounds, respectively. This monitor is also suitable for playing the latest video games, which is what i mostly use this monitor for, the colour contrast and screen resolution are not a problem when playing games, the graphics do not change to the recommendation provided by your graphics card maufacturer.
I have had this printer for just over half a year now, and so far i have had no problems with it, it has served me well, and continues to serve me well, it will be sometime before i consider getting a new monitor, until then, the dell 1707FP will be the only monitor for me.
Thank you for reading this review, plz tell me if you think there is something you think should be added to it, and i will edit as soon as i can, thank you once more for your time.

Manufacturer's product description
The Dell UltraSharp 1707FP was designed for a wide variety of users ranging from the home to corporate or financial trading environments. It has a wider viewing angle, which allows users to view the screen from various positions without compromising image quality. The higher contrast ratio generates sharper, crisper lines and images. Fast response times provide superior clarity for moving images with "no ghosting".
