Dell Vostro 1310

I bought with Laptop for work really, and because of the price that I paid £249 (special offer) I was not expecting very much. However I have been pleasantly surprised. I bought the option with open source software in and very little else application wise, as I can install the programmes that I use myself, so if you are capable it is a good option. I have the 2MB, Intel R Core 2 Duo 1.80GHz with the OS of Vista Premuim. Looks good with sleek black ...

I found that from receiving the box from the delivery driver to getting the laptop online, it took 7 minutes, that is because I did have a network already set up previously, however if I had not had that I reckon it would only have taken an extra couple of minutes to hook it up. Open source software is also included with the laptop and this has to be downloaded, I recommend you do this if you understand what you are going to be using, as open source software is very different to the normal Microsoft software. I found the ease of use good, however the touch pad for the mouse is not very sensitive and you have to press it couple of times to make it work as well as the old fashioned style mouse. I also found that the system is set out different for file storing however you soon get to grips with it. The laptop has great graphics, clear and precise, a built in Google taskbar that you can remove if you do not want it. The system is quick at start-up and shut down, and has the option to have remote help from Dell, this can be turned off for security purposes. I feel for the price and the spec, that this laptop is value for money, a little heavy & big to tuck under your arm, but a great option for little money. I will add the the instruction book, or should I say leaflet leaves alot to be desired, and not further instructions were included.
