Advantages Advantages Fashionable, looks great on your kitchen worktop

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bit pricey for what it is

My fiancé and I bought this toaster when we moved into our new house. In all honesty we weren't really looking for a toaster, but we had some loyalty points for Tesco which we quadrupled during an event they were holding. This meant we had about £120 to spend in store, which technically was at no cost to ourselves. We looked round the small appliances section and noticed this toaster and the matching kettle. They looked so retro but also modern we just fell in love with them straight away. When I saw the price, I deliberated for a little while, because if I'd been paying for it with my own ... more

    Advantages Advantages Looks Good

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pings the toast out with vigour!

Overview Not at any time in my life did I envisage thinking it would be OK to spend £60 on a toaster. However, when my new kitchen was fitted in black and cream, suddenly the £5 toaster from Argos just didn't seem to fit in to the beautifully sophisticated kitchen so I decided it was time to find a new toaster (and kettle). It is surprising how difficult it is to find a black toaster for the kitchen, there are a few out there but very few that I liked (or could justify the price of - it seems £60 for a toaster is a bargain in some places!). Anyway, I decided upon this silver and black DeLonghi ... more

Advantages Advantages bells, whistles, shiny bits...

Disadvantages Disadvantages shiny bits are hard to keep clean

Delonghi... or possibly DeLonghi, depending on where you look. When the toaster packed in, about six months back, my missus insisted that the replacement be red. When asked why, she declared that all the appliances would be red in the kitchen. I didn't laugh. So, I trolled through the stock at work, and found this little gem. Exactly what the boss ordered. Red, four slice, with analogue settings running from "warm bread" to "cremated bread". Perfect. It is, however, rather bigger than I expected... in fact, for a toaster, it's HUGE. The missus didn't care about that. It had shiny bits, and ... more

    Advantages Advantages Multi-functional

Disadvantages Disadvantages Keeping the chrome clean can be a pain

Never thought I'd say this about a kitchen gadget but I simply love my new toaster; not only does it fit in with my slightly retro kitchen (the toaster's red colour is classy rather than garish) but it also does the job amazingly well. Its four slice capacity is a blessing with two children in the house and, given that my partner has an obsession with toasted bagels the toaster's variable functions are great. The toaster's separate controls for cooking time are also handy as you can choose the cooking time per two slices and which also means you don't have to waste energy by having all the ... more
