After moving in with some roomates about a year ago, and tasting the coffee they offered from the instant jar in the pantry, i knew something had to be done! And let me tell you there is no more spending dollars at the cafe every morning or night. The Delonghi EC190 is well worth it.

im not to up to date with the technicalities, but apparantley one of the reasons it poduces good tasting coffee is that it has a 15 bar pump pressure. The Pump action Pump machines force the water through the coffee using an internal pump. This force is more intense than a steam machine and results in a higher quality and better tasting coffee. So there you go!
Furthermore it has a cappuccino system to produce a rich creamy froth for perfect cappuccino's. It can be used with either ground coffee or pods and the coffee usually comes out at around 80 degrees, which is good as coffee always tastes better the hotter it is, but be careful not to throw it down quickly and burn your mouth!
It is pump driven so there is no limit on number of cups and it has a removable 1 litres reservoir with water level indicator that is easy to read.
It is easy to maintain and clean, i have not had any problems with it functionally, just be careful to put the milk for cappuccino's in the right section. It is relatively safe to use as long as your responsible and not stupid. It has a removable drip tray which is easy to clean and slot back in. Also it is handy to clean the filter every now and than to ensure the best tasting coffee.
Of course there are some more heavily priced espresso machines on the market that will produce even better coffee and have more special features. I bought this one for $229 which equates to about 80 or 90 pounds i think, there are many places online that offer it for around this price which is pretty reasonable for this type of machine that produces good tasting coffe, easy to operate, clean and looks smart.
