The capacity isnt that big compared to other fryers on the market but i find this a better option because the kids get just about the right amount, and if they are still hungry 5 mins later they have more :0).

having 3 boys to cook for who all lack the patience to actually wait for anything i took the plunge and purchased this fryer from argos. The fryer is so simple yet affective to use and cooks anything from chips to chicken nuggets sausages onion rings pretty much anything that you can think of that kids like. The fryer takes only a fraction of the time food would take in an oven and although frying food isnt the healthiest of options when you dont have much time on your hands cooking chips in a couple of minutes sure as hell beats 30mins in a oven especially when the kids are starving and moaning. The capacity isnt that big compared to other fryers on the market but i find this a better option because the kids get just about the right amount, and if they are still hungry 5 mins later they have more :0). The oil only takes a few minutes to heat up and then away you go and i particulary like the option of keeping the lid closed whilst cooking which was something my previous fryer didnt offer. This means that although the inside of the fryer gets very messy very quickly its a lot better than being spat at by boiling oil and my kitchen units getting covered in oil. There is a window you can view to see how the food is cooking and the basket inside can be lifted up while the lid is closed. This is also a safety issue as we know how curious kids can be when they can smell food cooking. My only concern when buying this was how easy it would be to clean and so far i havent had any problems getting it looking as good as new however i would recommend cleaning it after 8-12 uses especially if using it for foods with breadcrumbs which get everywhere. For anyone wanting a fryer this is a steal at under £20 and i highly recommend it.

Quick review of Delonghi F600
Sent this back the following day.
Hot steam comes out of the lid near the handle.
Supposed to be coolwall but very hot to touch.
Chips burnt on outside and not cooked on inside even on 180 degrees as well as the recommended 190 degrees.
No timer on it. Replaced it with a Frigidaire FCL-803 £15.00 from T J Hughes which has a timer and a rubber seal on lid which means all steam goes only through the filter. ...

Advantages: Good size, removable filter Disadvantages: Where to store??, cleaning done frequently
...boys I have found the Delonghi F600 "chips with everything" deep fat fryer useful, if not an absolute necessity in my kitchen. It is a must for chips, as well as chicken, mushrooms, onion rings and anything else that can be fried (and usually is when used by the boys). Not only does it cut down on the smells in the kitchen but it also cooks the food in a fraction of the time.
The only problem I have had is the cleaning, which has to be done quite ... ...the Delonghi range, the cleaning process is laborious as there is no outlet for the used oil.
It does have a variable thermostat, which is a definite plus along with the volume of food that can be cooked. Another advantage with this fryer is that it has coolwall.
There is also a changable filter which is situated on the top of the door of the fryer, just behind the viewing window, which does not need a screwdrive to remove it.
All in all I have ...
