Advantages: Removable lid which is dishwasher safe Disadvantages: Everything else
...Perhaps in future I will refer to ciao reviews before purchasing anything. I have just learnt by my experience. Having just purchased a DelonghiF603 deep fat fryer, believing Delonghi to be a reputable company, I am appalled by this fryer. In fact the item I have cannot really be called a fryer.
It takes over 15 minutes to preheat, even then not reaching a frying temperature, merely slight bubbling, resulting in warm soggy greasy potato pieces, rather than chips.
Despite turning the temperature control to maximum, and setting the timer to 30 minutes, even a small piece of bread dropped into the oil does not even brown.
Either there is a technical problem with the particular one I bought, or this product is totally useless. Straight back to the store with it. AND I WON'T BE GETTING ANOTHER DELONGHIF603....

Advantages: Good size, removable filter Disadvantages: Where to store??, cleaning done frequently
...I was fed up of the smelly kitchen and hours (figuratively speaking) of standing by a chip pan waiting firstly for it to warm up sufficiently and then for it to cook the chips, so I decided to buy a deep fat fryer, anything so I didnt have to be chained to the sink for hours scrubbing my old fashioned chip pan so that it would look as if it were at least respectable.
Being a parent of teenage boys I have found the DelonghiF600 "chips with everything" deep fat fryer useful, if not an absolute necessity in my kitchen. It is a must for chips, as well as chicken, mushrooms, onion rings and anything else that can be fried (and usually is when used by the boys).
Not only does it cut down on the smells in the kitchen but it also cooks the food in a fraction of the time.
The only problem I have had is the cleaning, which has to be done...

Advantages: cost, quality of fried food Disadvantages: dodgy handle
...I recently purchased a DeLonghi deep fat fryer as it was on special offer and I haven't had home made chips for years. (Cleaning the wedding present fryer become too hazaerdous without a biosuit and it went to the Great Kitchen in the Sky a decade ago.) This was a pure impulse buy and i have no real excuse for it - but it felt good and I may finally be able to understand why women need to buy more clothes when they can't fit what they already have into the wardrobe. (I would have thought buying a wardrobe would be logical, nut no, clothes it is.)
Since I seem to be rambling (without the benefit of alcohol) I will return to the fryer. Firstly I am not sure if this is the correct model - there is no model number on the box or fryer. It rejoices in the plain but informative name of "Electric Fryer". Which pretty much says it all...
