I bought this kettle mainly because it matches the decor in my kitchen, many other "cream" kettles that I found seemed more yellow, but this one is a perfect shade of cream. On a practical level, this kettle really is not that user friendly. Firstly you have to take the lid off to fill, as the spout simply isn't big enough. I bought this kettle about 14 months ago simply because it looked cool. I have never paid so much for a kettle before, £50 so I was expecting a lot from this brand. It came nicely packaged and looked the business sitting in my ktchen. To start with I gave it a clean and did a first boil as per instructuons. Even before it reached the boil the body and lid felt hot and it as the water heated it got hotter. This is not something I had come across before, I thought appliances had to have a safe body temperature thing. Agree with previous reviewer about style over practicality! I also bought this kettle to fit in with my new kitchen and must confess it does look great. It's a rapid boil kettle and does what it says on the box. However if you're a bit lazy like me and like to fill through the spout you'll have to take it gently as the spout is not really big enough. You also have to tip the kettle a long way to get the water out, I wonder whether all kettles of this style have this problem? So to recap ....
