Well, i was sick of using ground coffee since the flavour of the coffee was gone by the time it was in the cup after grinding in a factory. So i thought, "Why not get a coffee grinder? Get real beans!". This thought played in my mind for while until i came across a £20 voucher for Amazon.co.uk. ... Read review
Advantages: Does the job consistantly, Easy to use! Disadvantages: Breakable parts, Minimum of 4 cups at 1 time.
...and use it in my DeLonghi machine, but it looked like a very good grind indeed. I was impressed. I tried the coffee and yes, it tasted better than ground coffee. So, cheers to a nice cup of coffee!
However, i was expecting it could fit more into it. If you're doing a party with coffee (Trust me, i would!) 84g isn't much at one time. But still, for someone at home, a teenager who wants a quick grind to have a lovely cup of coffee to ... ...along with other mouldings from DeLonghi products. We have a lot of DeLonghi in our house you see! The mouldings break for them very easilly. But you can replace them at the website, for a price though.
Also, cleaning the inside can be an issue. Sometimes i end up mixing beans, which doesxn't lead to a great result. It isn't waterproof, and it never ALL comes out. After the first time you use it, it's dirty for life.
And they had an offer which made the delivery on this free, so i bought it. Mainly because it is the same make and looks the same design as my coffee grinder, but mostly because it was on the front page!
Price: £19.99 RRP Capacity: 84g (12 cups) Minimum: 28g at one time (4 cups) Main Material: Plastic. Colours: Black (Which turned out to be dark purple), Silver Features: 3 types of grind to do with how many cups to grind, LED lights show the results, UltraQuick grind system
Now thats over, lets get on with reviewing this grinder!
When i first looked inside this grinder, i thought "Oh no, how are those little blades going to grind 84g of beans?", i felt them and they didn't feel sharp at all. Put i put 4 cups of espresso beans (Illy) inside it, and setted it to 4, and grinded, and wow! What a surprise, it was grinding well and consistantly! It was a maximum of 15 seconds till i could take the coffee out and use it in my DeLonghi machine, but it looked like a very good grind indeed. I was impressed. I tried the coffee and yes, it tasted better than ground coffee. So, cheers to a nice cup of coffee!
However, i was expecting it could fit more into it. If you're doing a party with coffee (Trust me, i would!) 84g isn't much at one time. But still, for someone at home, a teenager who wants a quick grind to have a lovely cup of coffee to get rid of the blues of the day with, this works well. Although, 4 cups at one time, if you do 4 espresso's, have 2 (The minimum in my coffee machine), espresso's, and you fancy a normal filter coffee, your stuck. A 2 setting would have been good in this machine.
A coffee grinder will never be groundbreakingly exiting, but it does the job!
Also, the house material. It isn't black, it is dark purple... It doesn't make a difference to the way it grinds but it's not the colour it promised...
Also, the button on the front saying 'Grind' is very unstable, i feel if i press it too hard it will break off. The lid also seems very breakable, along with other mouldings from DeLonghi products. We have a lot of DeLonghi in our house you see! The mouldings break for them very easilly. But you can replace them at the website, for a price though.

Anyway, to conclude, it's a nice grinder, it does the job, nothing special, but parts seem to be easilly breakable and i wish there was a 2 setting. Oh, and it isn't black by the way!
I have only recently recieved this and it is unbelievably faster than the manual thing I was used to.
I like the fact that you tell it haw much coffee beans you are putting in and then you simply hold the button until the required light lights up. You either grind for less time and end up with Drip filter coffee or hold it slightly longer to end up with what I consider to be standard ground coffee or you leave it for even longer and you end up with ... ...feel of this grinder very good. I originally thought it was black however only to discover it is a dark purple (that is just me being silly though). This is a minor point as the overall workings of the grinder are fantastic and you could easily grind a whole bag of beans using this instead of a manual one. ...
