operating while you are away from home for a few days.
The motor is very quiet in a daytime context - about the same sound level as a four inch extractor fan and unobtrusive. Overnight operation would be barely audible if sited a room away from your bedroom.
At a power of about 170 watts, six hours of continuous operation will consume about one unit of electricity - approximately 10p at November 2008 prices. Ours is parked on the upstairs landing, is switched on when cooking the evening meal and turned off about six hours later. At the time of writing this pulls out one litre of water from air at a temperature of 16°C.
The level of condensation in our home has been slashed. We are very pleased with the DEM 10 and recommend it without hesitation. ...

Advantages: Inexpensive, makes good basic coffee Disadvantages: Tiny tank capacity means filling it every time. A bit noisy
Oh yes, make that three appliances that have crapped out on us in recent months, having had very little real use ? our Party Gear iPod dock, our Rexel Shredder and now our Morphy Richards Espresso machine that promised so much with its prestigious build quality and yet lasted three years of merely occasional domestic use.
With hindsight, the perceived build-quality of the latter appears to have been ?all fur coat and no knickers?. I can?t bring myself to scroll back through my opinions to find out how much it cost, but it was over a ton, of that I?m sure. I?d only upset myself anyway.
IT HAD TO GO
It?ll come as no surprise that I?ve decided to buy something cheaper, covered with an extended warranty this time. Hence it was that I recently found myself in Comet paying £70 for a DeLonghi Treviso, but before you all start ...
Advantages: Takes Pods as well as Ground Coffee, has removable water tank, great value for money Disadvantages: Won't take a mug, takes a while to warm up, pods not easy to come by
The Delonghi EC330S is very stylish and would look good in any kitchen.
I found the best thing about this machine is that it takes pods as well as ground coffee, and the water tank is removable so no need to take a jug to the tank to fill it up. The cup warmer is a pleasant addition.
I am however disappointed that it won't take a mug, so a large cup is ideal if you want a cappuccino. Also it does takes a while for the machine to warm up, and the pods aren't that easy to come by in the shops, so stock up when you find them or buy them online.
Overall this is a great mahcine for people who don't want to spend a fortune, or for the begginers as it is very easy to use. 9/10 ...
