Got this sat nav as an early Christmas present for myself because so many people have said good things about it. I must say it's exceeded all my expectations. It is not your average sat nav system as it's a very high-tech device but very easy to use. Unlike the gentleman in the other review I found it to be very easy to install the speed cameras, you just have to click one button!! The beauty of this system is that the speed camera database is updateable monthly free of charge, this is not the case with many other sat navs. The system came with a double CD-ROM containing all the maps of Western Europe and also with its own destinator software, and the most exciting thing of all, Microsoft Outlook Activesync which is an invaluable piece of software. Now you don't have to look for addresses of your friends or contacts or ask them every time, just download then on to the Nav100 and every time you want to look for directions click on their name, forget postcodes, street names, town, etc. The quality of the screen on this system is right up there with the high-resolution tft screens you would get on a PC and that's thanks to the Germans for not cutting any corners.
The maps come from Navteq and are pretty recent as far as GPS maps go. Companies like tomtom and Garmin make you believe you need daily or monthly updates so they can keep making more money out of you like Microsoft is doing. I mean, for god sake how often do we get a new street or a new postcode added to any city any where in the world??! You still get the upgrades for the Nav100 but I will never bother. It's just like Windows releasing a new version every damn year or so, which is supposedly better than the last and it turns out to be full of holes. I guess the map companies need to make money some how, otherwise one map supplied would last their customer decades if they were not careful!!!
Bought this for an unbelievable bargain price of £159 from ebay, I was scared it might be some sort of a copy or a fake because it was so cheap but it is exactly the same as the one my father in law bough from Germany for 499 EUR (£360)!! unbelievable!! I had to check every bits and pieces to make sure it was the same, I could not believe my eyes, it's the best bargain I ever got.
