As a Delta Force operative participate in a number of daring and intense raids against the oppressive Somali warlords in and around Mogadishu.
I bought this game after experiencing the singleplayer modes on the previous delta force games, I found this game very addictive, this was before i stumbled across the multiplayer mode online!!
The single player missions include back alley fire fights in the streets of Somalia, building raids on enemy rebel forces, eliminating enemy targets, completing objectives using a lethal arsenal of weapons modeled on 25 real life fire arms and a selection of military vehicles and mounted weapons, including the Black Hawk helicopter with mounted miniguns on each side and the Humvee with an on board mounted 50 cal machine gun for heavy support fire!!! I personally found that the games AI for the enemy was exceptional in the single pplayer mode but after repeating the missions it became predictable, which lead me onto playing online where you can never predict what your up against.!
Theres plenty of fun to have in the single player mode, but if you find that its not for you, why not try the awesome online, multiplayer mode!!! I tried this about a week after i bought the game, it was a whole different experience all together, playing alongside another person adds to the realism of this action packed first person shooter, with many different multi player modes including the classic Death Match, Team Death Match, Team King Of The Hill and Attack and Defend. I found the key to success in this game as many others when playing online is to work as a team, which is crucial in this game. The multiplayer mode allows you to plan tactics against your opposition by using a team chat option so only your team can read your messages. An advantage to this games online gaming is that if an online server or LAN server is running a customized map, you dont need to download the map and waste valuable gaming time!!!!
To play online with Delta Force Black Hawk Down you are required to use novaworld to access the servers, i have had trouble in the past with novaworld itself and with updating the game online, however the ever growing delta force community has its own solutions to these problems by creating pingers which search for servers for you, instead of having to use the novaworld pinger.
The minimum System Requirements for this PC game are:
-Pentium III 733 MHz -256MB RAM or greater -4 x CD-ROM -750MB Hard Disk Space Free -Any Windows Compatible Sound Card -Direct 3D video card with 32MB required, Supported 3D cards include: Nvidia TNT2, GeForce series, ATI Radeon series. -Direct X 8.1 (or higher)
For multiplay online your system requires:
-Minimum of a 56k modem, a Broadband internet connection is the better option for better online gaming.
I thoroughly enjoy playing this game online, i recommend it to any first person shooter fan out there, though your impression on the game is only as good as how it runs on your PC, so in my oppinion, get a high spec PC an run this game on its full settings, with the best detail to experience an electrifying, addictive gameplay you wont forget!
