Mostly new born babies within the first 2 months of their life it can last in some cases till they are three but very rarely beyond this.
= Any Treatment? =
In mild cases you can usually leave it alone and it will go away within time.
My son had a mild case and was quite lucky that his cradlecap was only a slightly thick yellow layer to his scalp but didn?t develop into scales . I think i caught it in time with Dentinox.
Some other treatments that are recommended;
#Try rubbing baby oil into his/her scalp at night to break up any scales
#in the morning try gently massaging the scalp with a dry brush or your fingers
#NEVER EVER PICK THE SKIN! - you could cause infection.
#It can occur in older children who can be described medicated shampoos to reduce itchiness and flakes.

Cradle cap is a form of seborrhoeic dermatitis, which can cause a dry, flaky, itchy scalp. The condition is not serious but it is unsightly, appearing as scaly patches. Dentinox Cradle Cap Treatment Shampoo has been specifically and clinically tested to treat cradle cap. A little Dentinox Cradle Cap Treatment Shampoo massaged gently but firmly over the entire scalp will help to lift the scaly patches and leave the scalp clear. The active ingredients (sodium lauryl ether sulpho-succinate and sodium lauryl ether sulphate) can be used for even the youngest baby, although as with most shampoos, contact with the eyes should be avoided. Dentinox Cradle Cap Treatment Shampoo can also be used as a general shampoo once cradle cap has been treated to maintain the cleanliness and health of your baby's scalp and hair.
