Advantages Smells nice, does get rid of the flakes

Disadvantages Takes a while to have much effect

My daughter is seven months old and she started to get those little scaly patches on her head which I knew were cradle cap so I bought this shampoo to try and clear it for her. Cradle cap is a form of dermatitis which causes a dry and flaky scalp with little flakes and scabs developing, you should not pick the scabs off as this can affect hair growth. The shampoo costs around £2 for a 125ml bottle, you can buy the shampoo at chemists and many supermarkets so it’s not hard to get hold of.

The shampoo comes packaged in a cardboard box with a jade green background for the background of the product name and along the bottom and then there is a picture of mother and baby on the front of it.

Inside the cardboard box there is a white bottle of the product, on the front of the bottle there is writing ion the same jade green colour that was on the box it gives you the name of the product and the information “for the treatment of cradle cap and general care of infant hair and scalp.”

On the back of the bottle all the writing is in the same jade green colour and you are given the information that once the cradle cap is treated this is safe to use as your babies normal shampoo which I think is good to know as you know it must be safe if it can be used long term. There are the usual list of ingredients the actives one are Sodium lauryl ether sulpho-succinate and sodium lauryl ether sulphate. The directions for use tell you to half a teaspoon to babies hair and massage gently but firmly, you are also told to rinse this off and repeat, I find the fact that you are given an amount like this is strange as babies can have very little hair or a full head of hair.

The bottle has got a flip top cap which I always think is good as I am then not hunting for where the lid has gone, after flipping the lid there is a small hole for the dispensing of the product and you just simply squeeze the bottle to get the product out. The shampoo smells floral but medicated at the same time but is actually quite a nice smell, on putting the shampoo on my daughters hair it doesn’t really lather all that well but as my daughter has hardly any hair it covers it just fine, the shampoo is easy to rinse out and doesn’t leave any residue.

The shampoo does work but it does take it’s time, my daughter has certainly got less of the little flakes but there is still some there and we must have been treating this for about three weeks now, her hair is always left smelling lovely and little bit she has is nice and soft. I would recommend this product just don’t expect very quick results.
