Dead Good Read
Review of Dead Keen - Denise Ryan by stonea

Advantages: Gripping story line
Disadvantages: Can't put it down

...Dead Keen is Denise Ryan’s second novel. The main character, Justine, is an attractive girl about to get married to the man of her dreams. However, there is a flaw in her rosy life, she is being stalked. At first her stalker, Matthew, is madly in love with her. When he is rejected his love turns to hate and he does whatever he can to make her live in fear. The story is harrowing in parts with some awful stomach churning attacks and deaths. Another storyline follows the dealing in an illegal contaminated mineral from Russia by Justine’s close friend Paul. The two stories intertwine with harrowing consequences. It is definitely not the type of book that leaves you with a warm feeling inside; it will make you ensure you double lock your door at night. The book is very well written, drawing you into the lives and minds of all its characters... Read review

The Watchman - Chris Ryan
Review of The Watchman - Chris Ryan by NUFCAdam

Advantages: This is my favourite Chris Ryan book and i have them all
Disadvantages: As much as i tried i could not guess the twists

...Chris Ryan is an ex SAS soldier who writes novels based loosely on his experiences of combat. During the original Gulf War, Ryan was the only member of an eight man team to escape from Iraq; three colleagues were killed and four were captured. This was the longest escape and evasion in the history of the SAS and the tale was written in the autobiographical bestseller 'The One That Got Away'. Since the initial non-fiction book Chris Ryan has written 8 novels as well as a couple of non-fiction and children's books and it is thought that the powers that be in British Intelligence are not happy with Ryan who they feel has made their trade secrets known to enemies and civilians. The Watchman is the most complete Ryan novel I have read, telling the story of an SAS soldier paid by British Intelligence to track and kill an assassin... Read review

Jack Ryan is back
Review of Patriot Games - Tom Clancy by robin_best

Advantages: Hard to stop reading
Disadvantages: the book ends

...Patriot Games is the next book in the Clancy series of books that contain the character of Jack Ryan, this book sees Ryan becoming a hero and saving the life of The Prince of Wales. This deed is not all glory for Ryan as it turns him from being an ex marine and a history teacher into a political target. Because of Ryan’s act of bravery he turns his family into a target for the ULA, a target that no terrorist group could ever leave alone. This book contains a lot of secretive plotting and planning by the terrorists and their allies. But will they dare to attack an American and risk their funding for their political aims. The story line in this book is very strong and it will keep you on the edge of your seat. I can guarantee that you will not be able to put this book down, as I could not. You will have to see if the terrorists get... Read review
