I bought Denon AH-C55's to replace my mislaid Etymotics. I found immediately found them comfortable to wear, despite my weirdly shaped ears, and without the fussy attachments of Etymotics. The short lead minus the extension wasvery useful in plugging into my clip-on iPod Shuffle, not having tohave yards of wire dangling around.
The sound I found full-bodied and very exciting, with about as much bass as you could expect from miniature drivers. Perhaps not with the ethereal clarity of the Etymotics, but eminently suited to my musical taste of Jazz and Latin. I amvery pleased with these phones and would recommend to anyone requiring rich dynamic sound.
