Advantages: quality, amazing sound, good looks, value for money Disadvantages: no HDMI input (but thats changed on newer models)
DenonsAVR-1907 is now discontinued. However, there are models that follow on from its greatness and improve as they go. The model numbers go up in size according to the model, funnily enough. So at this price point, this particular DenonAVR has gone from 1900 to 1910 (as the current model) thus the model before the 1907 was the 1906 and the one after was the 1908, well, you get the idea. Which each release the general product is improved. There are models both up and down, with Denon?s flagship Audio-Visual Receiver the AVR-4810 leading the way with 9.1 channels and more inputs than you can shake a stick at. Of course, the price reflects the quality. The AVR-4810 is priced around £2,600. For those of us with less money to burn the models in the lower range of the spectrum are a more reasonable price yet still offer outstanding sound ...

Advantages: Good quality, Good number of inputs Disadvantages: Complicated Menu's, Instructions
Well this is an AMP I would recommend. I recently purchased this from Richer Sounds (cheapest place) to try and make life easier between all my electronics, and I am certainly happy with the result.
I was attracted to this as it has 2 Coaxial inputs, 4 video and 7 audio inputs, where allot of the models I was looking at in the more budget end of the scale, were very limited. The AVR 1706 also has had good reviews in audio mag's and websites, which sealed the deal
The 6.1 surround sound works well as there is added sockets to have an extra two front speakers for added power (total of 9 speakers). It covers Dolby Pro Logic 2, DTS etc, but the only one it is a bit hesitant with is Lucas Arts audio signals - They still work just as-well but when changing chapters on a DVD with this format, it takes a split second or two for the sound ...

Advantages: Good all round HiFi and cinema amp Disadvantages: fiddly to set up
I have been using a DenonAVR3300 Receiver now for 4 months as the heart of my home cinema system and have found it a great performer. The sound is very comparable to my old Technics HiFi amp, even with pure CD Audio.
The Amp has plenty of power, good frequency range and seems to suit my TDL floorstanding speakers. I use a B&W centre speaker and Paradigm sub. AR-8 rears make up the full complement.
Only niggles are:
- Complex programming
- No digital out
- Could do with 2 more video in sockets
- Poor remote control (ugly)
For £600 (if you shop around) I think it is a good value amp for the quality and performance. ...
