The build quality of the Denon is excellent. It is very easy to use and the picture quality on my Samsung 40" LCD TV is superb. The upscaling feature definitely improves the picture quality significantly over a "normal" DVD player.
I use this player to show digital pictures in JPEG format as well and they also come out a lot clearer using the upscaling facility than with my previous DVD player. My only complaint is that it is not possible to show JPEG files that have been recorded onto a DVD only on a CD which limits the number of files that can be viewed on 1 disk.
I would recommend this player to anyone with an HD ready TV. ...

of the reasons I went for this TV as I do not have a home Cinema system. There are loads of different settings for picture and sound which you can change very easily until you find the one thats right for you.
I do not have HD yet but I added a Denon1730DVD player recently and have been testing my DVD's out by one of the HDMI inputs and my opionion of this television just gets better and better. The deep colours and detail are brilliant and make this TV a real pleasure. Just watched Pirates othe Carribean last night and I enjoyed it just as much as when I saw it at the cinema. I do not think I will be going to the cinema very often now.
The swivel stand is very useful too as my computer is set to the side of the room and I can now watch TV while using the computer. I.m hoping to upgrade to Sky HD in the near future when the cost becomes more ...
