In summary, if you don't wish to blow all your money on replacing your non-HD DVDs with blueray but want excellent playback quality at mid-price then you can't do much better than this player. ... more
I have owned this unit for 18 months during which it has proved to be solid and reliable throughout. This unit is considered to be mid-priced and hence a lot is expected of it. As a non-HD player offering the full range of upscaling, picture quality is superb and when connected to my Sony KDL-46X2000 TV, one has to sometimes question the additional cost of blueray DVDs. Sound quality is also excellent for a machine which, at this price has to deliver a lot for the money. An HDMI interconnect is a must if you want the best delivery and I use a QED QUNEX HDMI-P cable to fit the bill. This dvd player has won so many awards in What HiFi, that I had to demo it.
As soon as I saw it, I bought it. Fantastic quality with a HDMi output as well. Fully scaleable picture to 720 and 1080dpi. It was bought as part of a complete Home cinema a/v system, and fits in perfectly with everything that I have.

I've had this TV for around 18 months now and it has been trouble-free since new. Hooked up with Sky satellite, it provides superb HD picture quality. Non-HD picture quality is also excellent. I also use a DenonDVD-1920 for DVD playback to provide great, non-HD video. On the downside, this TV is expensive and so I would expect better sound quality. I have to turn up bass and treble to improve sound output. However, connect the TV to a quality theatre or HiFi rig and you have a top-notch system. Use high-grade cables to get the best out of this TV. Weight wise this TV demonstrates the advantages of LCD technology: although a large unit, it is easy to position into place.

i had this player as a gift from purchasing a 43" LG projection tv in 2002, at first i didn't even give a look at this player. When i play this player for the first time it just give a good result from the picture quality and sound quality.
But this player change into a nearly hi-end DVD player when i upgrading it for arround $80 in my country INDONESIA. The sound is very good n the picture gives me an enjoyment to watch a DVD movie, especially after i try this player with s-video output, it gives me outstanding picture with that price. This player can be a cd player for beginner audiophile but i'm not use this player for that, cause who would use LG for CD player if he got DENON for CD player, but in other hand if this player is compares with DenonDVD player such as Denon1920. This player has a better picture quality if upgraded ...
