The DM30 offers exceptional sound quality both from cd and from the radio, it has a very stylish design with a metal fascia rather than a tacky plastic one which you get on cheaper Hi-Fis. However, I sometimes find the user interface a bit unfriendly, although referral to the manual solves my problems usually. Simple operations like playing a cd, or turning on the radio are easy though.
If you are looking for a good quality stereo which will look great and give you a great range of features I recommend this!
I bought this product about a year ago along with the tape player which you can also get and have been very happy with it.

The DM30 has RDS, RadioText (scrolls information broadcast from radio stations such as who the DJ is, news, etc.), EON, PTY and other features for the radio. It has input and output sockets in the back so you can connect other AV devices to it. I currently have a tape player, but you can also get CDRs and minidisc players for it aswell. I currently have it set up so the sound from my computer goes through it - much better sound quality is achieved than from most speakers designed specifically for computers.

Advantages: durable, stylish, good value, excellent sound quality Disadvantages: none discovered in 3 years
I bought my Denon DM30 new from an eBay trader 3 years ago and have used it either as a radio receiver, CD player or connected to my computer most days since. The beautifully compact mission speakers give out a very balanced sound and at 20 - 50 watts are loud enough for most domestic situations. The CD player is un-troubled by any discs that I ask it to play, even cheap CDRs and does not jump. The manual that came with it is extensive and I have ... ...that preceded it. In fact I like it so much that I bought a used one for my son and he has run it for the last year without problems (a good deal louder than me probably). These days it is refreshing to find a product that outlasts it's guarantee so well. ...
