I bought this product about a year ago along with the tape player which you can also get and have been very happy with it.
Having purchased Denon products before I had no problems in paying a bit extra for what I knew would be a top quality product.
The DM30 offers exceptional sound quality both from cd and from the radio, it has a very stylish design with a metal fascia rather than a tacky plastic one which you get on cheaper Hi-Fis. You get a couple of very nice wood-effect speakers which look superb and are designed and produced for Denon by "Mission".
The DM30 has RDS, RadioText (scrolls information broadcast from radio stations such as who the DJ is, news, etc.), EON, PTY and other features for the radio. It has input and output sockets in the back so you can connect other AV devices to it. I currently have a tape player, but you can also get CDRs and minidisc players for it aswell. I currently have it set up so the sound from my computer goes through it - much better sound quality is achieved than from most speakers designed specifically for computers.
Most of the functions on the Denon DM30 are controlled via the included remote control. However, I sometimes find the user interface a bit unfriendly, although referral to the manual solves my problems usually. Simple operations like playing a cd, or turning on the radio are easy though.
If you are looking for a good quality stereo which will look great and give you a great range of features I recommend this!
good basic review, but if you could put in things like power output, cost and availability, it
would help. luckily, i know most of the specs of the DM30,but there are a lot of people out there who don't. with a few more details in there, you will get much higher ratings.
that said it is still a good review, but could become a great one!!!! take care. regards,
john.
I did consider a Denon system when choosing a new hifi for my bedroom. In the end though, features came before quality and I choose a Technics. Good op! If you include anymore details, please leave a message in my guestbook and I'll happily give you higher ratings. If you take a look at other peoples ops on hifi and the like, you'll get an idea of the info to include in your op. Welcome to Ciao too, hope you enjoy it here :-) Ciao for now - J
