Review
I bought this device 18 months ago when I was looking for a new stereo with an iPod dock for my bedroom. I looked at a lot of systems than had audio in cables for iPods, or which had integrated docks but limited additional features. Then I cam across the Denon S-52.
This shoe-box sized stereo packs an impressive array of features into an affordable system which as seen it used almost constantly. The Denon offers a high quality speaker system which adequately fills a room even on low volumes. At higher levels this device does not distort the music as so many of its cheaper alternatives seem to do. I'm constantly asked to bring the Denon when I go to house parties, as other friends iPod docks or stereos simply cannot compete.
All the features work well, though the network connections via the wireless system were a touch tricky to start with.
This device is not for everyone as there are cheaper variants on the market and if you're on a tight budget I would advise going for them. Likewise, those with money to burn or who need a top-class system would be disappointed with Denon's offering. However, if you are looking for an affordable device for daily use that can up its game when required, then this is the system for you.
